Can i use the projector and charge it at the same time?

Yes, I charge it with my laptop and use it at the same time.

I'm using an apple laptop and the hdmi cable works, but the picture is blurry. I tried focusing and it is still blurry

Try cleaning the lens. I use mine from 7 inches to 130 inches. There is a converter that is use with apple products. The cheapest one is $9.99.

Does the projector work on the computer and the laptop

The projector takes any type of HDMI input, so if your device has an HDMI output it will work.

will this focus small enough to fit a 9x12 canvas?

Yes. I've used it with 9x12 watercolor paper.
