Nice looking laptop with good memory
I bought two of these laptops for my husband and I. While I know many people are moving to storing everything on a cloud, I really like being able to still have my items stored on my laptop as well. We've had these laptops for four months and have not had any issues whatsoever. I like how it starts up relatively fast and I never have issues with my laptop freezing or being slow like I've had with past computers. The design is sleek and the mouse pad works great. One thing I Have noticed is that the number lock automatically turns off after awhile. I'm not sure if that's a common thing but it is new to me.Overall I really like this laptop and so does my husband. We use our laptops for school, work and streaming movies and TV shows. The Windows 10.1 software is great and a HUGE step up from the 8.1. This laptop really is great quality for the price.

Not actually as advertised...
This computer is everything it says it is. It's a good value for most users. HOWEVER, ASUS lists in the specs that the RAM can be expanded to 8G. This is somewhat kind of true- if you disassemble THE ENTIRE LAPTOP. It is not simply a door to unscrew, and old RAM chip to pull out and replace the way "expandable" used to be. Instead, the entire back has to be unscrewed and removed, you must remove nearly all of the parts of the computer to flip the motherboard over (carefully so you don't break anything!) to access the area where the current RAM chip sits in order to replace it. That is the kind of expandable that voids warranties, folks. People have posted videos of this effort on you tube, I highly recommend you watch before you pick this guy up thinking it will be a piece of cake expand the memory. We bought the RAM we'd need along with the laptop and of course it got opened before we understood what a feat it would be to put it in, so it's useless and I can't return it.As far as I'm concerned, this was false advertising. If the consumer specs say "expandable" that should mean without hiring a tech to do it.Other than that, it is what it is- a good machine for the price, holding up well for regular use so far.

I'm very happy with this computer
I'm very happy with this computer. My previous one just died on me in the middle of a project, and two days later, I had this one. It was a seamless move from the old to the new. This one is fast, up to date, and perfectly fits my needs. I don't watch movies on it, so I can't comment on that, but it's just right for someone like me who needs internet, email, and a word processor.

Great for a frugal college student!
Packaging: The laptop itself came in a standard laptop box like one you would see at a store. The real problem was that they put the box containing the product loosely inside another box with a bunch of space to freely move around and bash back and forth. The outer box was also in pretty rough condition upon arrival. The laptop i received was miraculously undamaged but I'm certain, if all of them have packaging similar to this one, someone has received a damaged unit.Quality: As far as ports go, this laptop has an Ethernet port, HDMI port, VGA port, SD slot, headset port, and only 2 USB ports. The Ethernet and HDMI ports are useful and many lower budget laptops sadly don't include these. So, the only problem with this list of ports is TWO USB ports. On the bright side, one of them is USB 3.0. I can think of many reasons more USB ports would be ideal, but, most people can get by with just two; if not, they can buy a USB hub. The processor is not phenomenal but it IS Intel so that makes things a bit better. The keyboard works well and has a number pad which is why i prefer 15.6" laptops over smaller ones. The touch pad is annoying in the sense that the buttons also have touch sensors over them; making it difficult to click on small objects. I'd say the ideal purpose for this laptop is word processing but it can also be used for viewing videos and for less intensive gaming.Value: This laptop is extremely affordable for what you get. $230 is affordable for most college students which is why I bought this. I have a pretty nice desktop but I wanted a cheap laptop so I was able to work on projects at the library or on the go. For anyone who is in need of a laptop for typing papers, this is a justifiable purchase.Overall:PROS:-Cheap-Battery lifeCONS:-Touchpad-2 USB portsI'd recommend this laptop to anyone who just needs a device capable of typing up documents and watching some videos. This is a great laptop for college students such as myself.
