Absolutely terrible! Smelled and tasted like dirt. Do not waste your money.

Great flavor, fresh, reasonably priced. A little goes a long way

All I get as an answer is that they are black truffles and they are sliced and packaged in USA, and are considered organic by USA standards.Why can't you answer basic questions that are important to the consumer?!!If I could get those answers than I would have rated 4 or 5 stars.The truffles are well packaged EXCEPT DESCRIPTION. Truffle slices are clean and depending on the type may not be completely ripe. Dried pieces have an earthy scent. I re-hydrate mushrooms in cold water which prevents leather texture. After hydration, these truffles release a buttery/fruity/earthy weak scent which is pleasant. Taste is weaker than fresh but does add hint of flavor to recipe. My dog also recognizes these as truffles but the taste and scent is different from fresh truffles but maybe that is because I've never had this type of "black truffle" ??!! I wouldn't know as THEY DON'T TELL US WHICH FRICKIN "BLACK TRUFFLE" THIS IS. I would buy again if I don't find another source or better yet, I might just start dehydrating fresh ones myself... AT LEAST I WILL KNOW WHERE THEY CAME FROM AND WHICH TYPE THEY ARE!! If they ever answer those questions than I will know whether or not to raise up from the 3 star. These do not have any hint of "garlic" scent to them that I have smelled with fresh ones. But that might because I have only had a different type of black truffle, but don't know because THEY DON'T TELL US WHICH ONES THESE ARE OR WHERE THEY COME FROM. :)

These taste like nothing. Don’t bother buying them.

Using them to train Dog to find truffles. I don't know whether it will work or not but she does well at finding them when I hide them.

Having purchased numerous items from Amazon since 2008; this is without question the worst product we have bought! In no manner does this product (Dried Black Truffles) reassemble true truffles. Furthermore, I plan to contact Amazon directly and file a formal complaint concerning this matter. As such, I would strongly advise against buying this product.

Sliced to the right thickness to bring out the flavor of the Fungus. My advice is to soak them in water for about half an hour before using them and use the water in your dish.

The product was unacceptable. I have used dried products like this before and have never had the results I had with these. The Truffles never reconstituted properly even after an hour in warmed liquid. Even so, I tried to use them. They were woody and had no flavor. They seemed to be very old.
