First off, this is a nice item. Nice weight, smooth and dark finish, and fits my gray leather belt perfectly. No major gripes besides the price and its' length (it's a bit shorter than the other buckles on my CHAOREN ratchet belts). Works well, came in a timely fashion, was packaged nicely, had a neat velvet-lined pouch and all that good stuff. Now. So... This is a buckle... WHY, pray tell, is it almost 4/5th's the amount of money I'd pay for an entire set (buckle AND belt)? I'm a sucker, I guess. I had to replace the other buckle I had because I just wasn't satisfied with it (far left on image). Most of my ratchet belts have open-faced buckles, and I was hoping this one (second from the left) could match them. It does, but it's just shorter. Two of the other ones I have (not pictured above) are about the same length, so it's not a deal breaker. (= But yo, man... that PRICE! Somewhat of a disappointment, but it still works. 4/5th's of the price? 4 out of 5 stars.Hope this helps. Have a wonderful day! (=

It says 52" on the listing and the belt, but it is a small 52" I wear a 48" American sized belt and this one I ordered from here doesn't fit so not sure how there measurement system works but it is not the same so if you order from here order big or it won't fit

The back of the belt says 100% leather. I'd give it a B since it's more like 80% leather with the upper layer being made of foam. The damage in the pictures is on purpose and not a defect. I separated the layers. The leather underneath seems strong and is a single layer rather than 2 thin layers glued together, which is a big plus. One thing to make note is that since the top layer is foam, it may wear away and the "design" may or may not last very long if it gets damaged or cracked. I think the leather portion is strong and will last but I have my doubt about the durability of the esthetics and how usable the belt will be without the foam layer, which is a shame. The good leather won't do any good if it becomes overall unusable. Only time will tell if it remains pristine. If it was 100% leather then at least you'd know it'll only get better as it wears

This is my second Barry Wang Ratchet Strap. Both have replaced origial straps on Chaoren ratchet belts. Sure wish Barry Wang belts were made in USA because they have quality similar to American items in the age when I grew up. The surface stamping could be a bit better. Othwise the strap looks and feels fine around my waist.Most important: Barry Wang straps I've purchased came with a leather keeper-loop. First cut the strap -- but feel free to cut it much longer -- then attach the strap to the buckle. Lastly, slide the keeper-loop onto the strap and let it fall all the way to the buckle. Now put on the belt and pull that keeper-loop through your pants belt loop(s). Even if your belt is long, you can use that loop as an auxiliary, keeping excessive strap from drooping. You don't need to worry about cutting your replacement strap short.Recommended.

It is black but the black has been painted onto brown and the brown shows through. It works as a belt but the colouring has been very cheaply done
