We love IXL books for our homeschool because they don't have all the extra language and a ton of riff raff which my kids find boring and long. This is to the point with short explanations. There is not a lot of lesson, which I don't mind because I can easily teach it to them in a way they best learn and understand.

I’m a special education teacher, and I got this workbook to help my students who need extra support accessing the 4th grade math curriculum. This book is exactly what I hoped it would be. The layout is clear, the practice is aligned with grade-level standards, and the skills are broken down in a way that’s approachable for learners who need reinforcement or smaller instructional steps. It’s been a fantastic resource to use in small groups and one-on-one sessions, and my students are gaining confidence as they work through it. Definitely a 5-star resource for teachers or parents who want meaningful grade-level support!

The IXL Ultimate 4th Grade Math Workbooks are an amazing resource for kids ages 9-10! They cover everything from addition and subtraction to multiplication, division, fractions, decimals, and geometry. It’s a comprehensive workbook that really helps reinforce all the key concepts my child needs to master this year. The problems are well-structured and gradually increase in difficulty, which keeps my kid challenged but motivated. It’s perfect for both extra practice at home and supporting what’s being taught in school. I’ve noticed a real boost in my child’s confidence and math skills since using this workbook.

The workbook is really nice but would be much, much better if the pages were perforated. There's no way to tear out the pages to incorporate them into a larger curriculum - you either need to find a way to cut them out neatly or lug around this big book. Not conducive to our homeschool style at all.

Perfect for my 3rd grader that needs a little extra.

I bought this book for my daughter who is going into 4th grade. I felt she needed a little extra work in math at the end of 3rd grade. I found this book to be an outstanding review, covering most of what she learned in 3rd grade and preparing her for fourth grade. Everything was covered: multiplication, long division, fractions (adding, subtracting, multiplying, reducing to simplest form, etc), perimeter, area, angles, word problems to reinforce, etc. I had her do 2-3 pages each day during the summer, and she is 20 pages short of finishing the book at the start of fourth grade. Her skills are immensely better than they were at the beginning of the summer. This books gives so many practice problems that she practically has her multiplication tables memorized. She gets the relationship between division and multiplication. I can confidently say she understands fractions. At the start of the summer she was not close to that level. I do think it is helpful to have a parent present at the start of each new concept to reinforce the book’s teaching of the material. The book does a descent job of explaining, but my daughter always needed more help to “get it”. Once she “got” the concept, there are dozens of problems in each section to reinforce their learning and mastery of the concept. Overall I couldn’t be happier with this book, and we will definitely be purchasing the next grade math book to supplement her normal course work during the year.

My daughter is in 3rd grade and I purchased this back in Sept. 2025. She took her Cogat test and did very well. So well that she got invited to a really good school to challenge her more. Needless to say I went and bought the 5th grade book for her to get ahead of the game.

Really helping to supplement learning for my 4th grader. She is better prepared for class and I can reinforce learning at home. She does a page or two each day and has been getting A’s on her math tests now.

My daughter complained that she doesn’t do enough math at school and doesn’t feel challenged. Bought this and she likes it. Easy in the beginning but plenty of challenge later in the workbook. Nice to do it together as otherwise I’d have no clue what she works on and what she knows. Great workbook for home
