These are a metal material so they won’t shard like reusable wooden ones do. I believe the paint coating does not peel either over time and they appear powder coated. They are beautiful and elegant. Perfect for a formal event or just a bowl of noodles. They are more “ clicky” since they are metal but didn’t bother me at all
