These strings were perfect for the application they are for.

I installed these bass strings on my Alvarez bass ukulele and they worked perfectly. Once on, they performed exactly as expected and I have no complaints about sound or feel. Installation was a little difficult at first, but the strings come pre-knotted, which was very helpful and made the process easier overall. I’m happy with how they worked and would recommend them for a bass ukulele.

I really like these on my Ashbury bass. They aren't as sticky as the silicone strings and don't break as easily. The tone is good and the added stiffness makes for easier intonation.

I read where these are now std equipment of the Kala uBass such as the Spalted Maple Acoustic Model, I purchased a set for my Kala uBass S.U.B. solid body bass ( no longer made) and they made a VAST IMPROVEMENT. In tone, in tuning stability, attack, and overall bass tone. So much so, I ordered a 2nd set as a backup for my other Kala uBasses.

I've been using D'Adarrio strings on my bass ukelele for long time and have had no issues with them. I just decided I wanted to go with black strings instead of the white ones. These strings make it easier to install because they are pre knotted and ready to go. Another plus is they don't have the stickiness of other strings.

Playability of the A string still doesn’t sound right.

I bought these ThunderBlacks for a Kala solid body ubass (chinese, not californian). I had put Thunder brown strings on it, because I like them on my Kala acoustic ubass. Unfortunately Thunder brown strings did not suit the solid body bass, and intonation on the E string was terrible. So I bought these Thunder blacks, and though half the price, they intonate much better. Something to do with them being thicker? They also have a much softer sound and than the Thunder browns, which are higher tension and more zingy. I still like the Thunder browns on the acoustic. Which is just as well as I now have spare set.

Nice strings. I like how black strings look on my U-Bass!
