I've been searching for a seed-starting tray that is 1) self-contained, 2) easy to use, 3) will last more than a season or two, and 3) doesn't cost an arm and a leg. These are filling the bill! They are still thin plastic, but better than the big, floppy 72-cell trays I've gotten, and they are indeed self-contained, since they have a tray so water doesn't drip all over, a clear top with vents, and even labels. The lid is thin enough that when the spinner to regulate humidity is pressed into place, you have to use 2 hands, one on the bottom to support the lid as the little prong is stabbed into the top. Works like a charm, though it's good to make sure you will really use it, because once the prong is pushed through, it's not coming out again. They have a nice taper, so that the cells can be easily removed once the plant's roots fill the space. Some might quibble that these aren't that big. That's true, but I'm the sort who'd rather re-pot viable seeds that grow, rather than waste huge amounts of seed-starting mix, space, and time on big cells that come up empty. And the truth is that 12 is plenty enough for most plants, with the space I have.

My friend bought these and I loved the sturdiness of them so I picked some up for myself. Moisture retention is perfect. Super easy to put together and add soil yo. They are not flimsy and are pretty thick, not like the cheap ones you get to start your seeds. They are small so you will have to pot up as soon as your plants get bigger. Im not sure about the growth rate yet but I’m sure the plants will grow just fine.

Need to be sure to use a good rooting medium seed germination was 11 out of 12. Best Germination ratios with the clear moisture lid and ventilation system when germination occurs.

Okay for the price but the lids don’t clamp down. Had to tape the lids to keep them down

I wasn’t sure about these cell trays. I am using them for starting seeds and at first to be honest and I bought too many so I did a return and then as life would have it….I am rebuying them because I won’t start seeds without them now. Here’s my experience. 1. I am new to seed starting and gardening. After watching a lot of online videos, I tried other seed starting cells….but I Love Love Love these with the individual cells/trays/domes. I am starting seeds in the storage room of my lower level using wire shelves, heat mats and LED shop lights and I am all about keeping things easy and enjoyable. 2. When you have a normal 6 cell (compartment) it is recommended to put two seeds in a cell just in case one doesn’t take. I use this 12 tray so I don’t have to separate them later :) easy. 3. These small self contained starter trays eliminate the worry of germination time. I can plant groups of seeds and adjust their environment on a smaller scale instead of those large 10x20 pans. Plants are super happy. 4. I use less seed starter mix. 5. I can tailor watering needs to the needs of these individual trays since they come with their own water retention tray, this eliminates overwatering of companion cells in larger trays. It also makes sure all areas are watered since my shelves aren’t level. (Larger flats 10x20 can have dry spots if the shelves aren’t level. Easy 6. They take up less space until I am ready to pot-up. So they fit on heat mats and under lights perfectly. 7. They are super strong and durable. Wash and reuse! Easy 8. I can see the root growth of the seedlings, super helpful to know when to replant/transplant/pot-up. Easy 9. The clear tray also lets me monitor the water absorption of the seeds…I can easily dump out the excess water if I need to or add more if I need to. Easy. (Don’t have to dump a 10x20 tray after removing all the cells…not easy) 10. The vent holes are perfect for allowing some moisture to escape. Super helpful when I started lettuce since they don’t like the heat too much, but I closed them to germinate peppers, and everything else that likes it warm and cozy. Easy 12. Every plant I started in these, potted-up (transplanted to larger pots or cells )nicely. (Tip: buy seeds from a reputable online company… amazon has nice choices. 13. These starter trays have made my seed starting experience amazing and bountiful! You will see in the pics I planted on the 11th of January, not sure if I would kill things (maybe planted too soon) but the transplants look great and are going strong 11 days out! Love the trays, you won’t be sorry if you choose these in my opinion they are versatile and easy for me to accommodate the needs of the seeds. A happy girl playing in the dirt :)

Many seed trays are flimsy and short-lived. These are far more durable - planning to get some more

ممتازة لانبات البذور في بيئة رطبة لأنها مزودة بغطاء يحبس الرطوبة، وبعد ان تنبت تنقل الى اصص كبيرة وتخرج الى الهواء الطلق. الاوعية قوية ومحكمة الصنع وكثيرة ولكن الغطاء لا يحكم الاغلاق. بعد ان نقلت الشتلات الصغيرة غسلت الاوعية وجففتها وحفظتها للاستخدام في الموسم القادم ان شاءالله.

They work great. I love the fact they are small. They don’t take up much room. And you don’t need a whole big tray for just a few , they save space.

I love that these are reusable! I love the time you buy them and they're so flimsy they're only good for one or two uses, but these ones are good and should last a long time
