I bought two to use with a zip 250 and zip 100 drive. I set both drives to master and plugged these adapters in. I have them installed in an older SATA machine running LMDE and I can access the disks without issue. I highly recommend these, especially at the price. Just make sure you can figure your drives correctly. When I had them both set the cable select they wouldn't work. Review: Remember to use jumper for master - Thought it didn't work at first - someone in the Q&A here helpfully reminded me you need to use a jumper to master the drive, so if you're having trouble, try that. After that, it worked like a charm!!! I was able to copy all the data off 3 old drives, checked for integrity, it worked flawlessly. My experience - Windows 10 recognized this adaptor connected IDE CD drive as a standard disk (hard drive) and loaded hard drive drivers. I spent several (!) attempts to replace driver with a CD driver (CdRom.sys) for this adaptor/IDE CD drive without success. Result - unfortunately, this adaptor didn't work for me. Am now successfully using a StarTech.com 1 Port PCI Express IDE Controller Adapter Card - Storage Controller - ATA - 133 MBps - PCIe x1 (PEX2IDE) in my application, which does cost more.
