Not how it appeared in the description!
This book looked like it was going to be a very visually beautiful experience to read and look through. The cover is a very appealing image and in the "sample", images are in color and very beautiful...When the book arrived, I immediately noticed how low quality the cover was, with the image and even the text pixilated. Then, while looking through the book, I saw how cheap the binding is and every image is black and white, at copy-machine-quality.If you are only interested in the message and teaching of this book, it might be perfect for you... If you were drawn in by curiosity, based on the visuals presented and care more about the visual experience than the "Wabi Sabi" teaching, than do yourself a favor and skip this book altogether!

Imperfection exemplfied
I wrote a master's thesis on Shibusa, in 1992, one of the aesthetics of Japan. I was delighted to receive Wabi-Sabi as a gift. I have read through most of it and too, am astonished at the translation, repetition, and incoherence, generally. But I forgive the trivia above because of that essential heartfelt expression of Osami Nishimurato to convey her concept of this aesthetic.

Hard to read
It surprises me that there are so many good review's on this book.It is such a low quality publication that it feel's like a copy of a real book.It would be one thing if that were there all we are confronted with when talking about this book.It is almost impossible to read. There are so many things wrong that is is actually hard tobelieve. Many sentences on the same page that make no sense. It reads like someone jumbledthe pages in some way. Impossible to read this book.It is trash.

Excellent writing marred by poor translation and editing
I’m very surprised that so many positive reviews did not reference the terrible translation and editing. The translation and editing of this book is inexcusably careless. It’s as if someone used Google translate using their cell phone and then didn’t edit it- seriously. If you are willing to laboriously work through the terrible translation and non-existent editing you can find some snippets of truly excellent writing and thought beneaththis mess. Finding a new editor, translator and republishing could do this book the justice it deserves.

Not Recommended Book
I found this book very difficult to read. There are many grammatical errors and because the writing is not done well, it takes a while to get the real meaning of the sentence, paragraph, page, chapter and so on. Quite disappointed. I realize what wabi sabi is, but this is not the way to explain it nor is it a way to demonstrate what it means. I would NOT recommend it to anyone.

Poor translation, hard to read. Many errors.
Like other reviewers have stated, it seems like someone used Google translate and printed the book as is. I should have returned it.

Disappointing
Cheap quality paper and printed in black and white. I was expecting some beautiful illustrations in colour, but was very disappointed. The philosophy of Wabi Sabi can not be successfully illustrated with black and white. Very mediocre. How Amazon are getting away with their scam, I do not know. One star, only because I had to.

Sehr interessant
Mir gefiel dieses Buch, leicht verständlich. Eine gute Orientierung im Thema Wabi - Sabi. Ästhetik der Dinge und des Seins.

Horrible translation
I would like to return this book, can hardly make any sense of it. Is this a Google translated book? Never had such a bad experience with a book from Amazon.
