Absolute Boyfriend, Vol. 3

Fantastic, just what I wanted! :)

The third instalment of AB gets a little more intense as Night and Gaku look for new ways to try and get Riiko to take full responsibility of Night. The manga continues directly on from the previous book and then launches into and entirely new, but still relevant, plot.You need to be in a certain frame of mind to enjoy a manga like Absolute Boyfriend. Vol 3 was slightly unusual because the story is strange, yet still compelling. It demonstrates revolutionist ideas of women, and yet retains the traditional gender roles in courtesy and dating. Not to say that men are excluded by any means, but to me it's a real woman's read, and you need to be a woman who won't take this terribly seriously.Overall, I like this volume for its ground in realism, whilst managing to send the characters on a wacky rollercoaster ride of a plot.
