Great tactical light
Great tactical light. I have a Walther PPS that I use for EDC and CCW. This is also part of my EDC. I light weight effective tac light that mounts perfectly to the best CCW pistol, personal opinion of course on the pistol. Now if only I could get a nice CCW holster that fit the pistol and light.Side note: It is not the brightest light. I don't like spot lights on guns though. So it works great for my needs.Disclaimer: This in NO WAY replaces a EDC flashlight. I do not under any circumstance condone the use of a weapon mounted light for daily light use. REMEMBER IT IS ATTACHED TO A GUN. WHERE THE LIGHT IS THE BULLET COULD GO. REMEMBER THE CARDINAL RULES OF FIREARMS SAFETY. PLEASE!!!

Find something else
You get what you pay for. Battery died quickly without much use. Light quality is not that great. I'd spend the extra cash for a better light.

It Should Say Somewhere that this light IS NOT LED AND IS A PREHISTORIC TAC LIGHT!!!!!
The Light is apparently 40 lumens at best but lumens are is a rating for LED's so its about the same as a pin light and once your done having to pay for the LED bulb that goes into the Light your out over 110 bucks. Two thumbs down and feel sorta taken advantage of when i thought i was getting a deal....

under powered over priced.
it does work but not on par with the newer lights even for a sub compact it should be brighter for the money.

Great Light But Could Be Brighter
I can't really say anything bad about this light. It is made very well, fits the XD40 subcompact perfectly, works smoothly, BUT it could be a lot brighter. Given that it is using a lithium 3v battery, I beleive it would be better served with an LED that would give more bright white light while drawing about the same amount of current. I don't consider the light emitted from this light to be blinding like some of the Surefire lights that I have (which also use 3V lithium batteries). I would say the light emitted from this light is more comparable to an incandescant 2x AA mag light. Problem though is that if you are looking for a light for the XD40 subcompact, this is pretty much all there is...

PERFECT
The light fits my new XD 40 Sub Compact perfectly. Like the last review, had it mounted and running in less than a minute. took longer to open the box. Very bright and easily with in reach of the trigger finger. I was a little worried about whether or not it would fit and if it would work, as soon as it was on the pistol, that all went away. If you have a Sub Compact then this is a great light for it.Update-20130408, I had to change the batteries in this a few times over the last year but it is still going strong for over 1000+ rounds of .40 fired through the pistol.Update-20141208, still going strong.

Great Light
The Insight X2 is a great sub-compact light. Fits my Walther PPS like a glove. Easy controls and install process. Would suggest the LED for better brightnes. You can upgrade to the LED bezel which is made by Insight or purchase the X2 LED if ordering for the first time. The fit and finish are great and you hear a distinct "click" when light is attached properly. Can't go wrong with the X2!!
