I think it is the softer feel, and maybe I am not gripping the club as tight, since it is a larger diameter. Played a LOT with it since, and am very confident when I get ready to rip it. Figured I would try it on my irons, so I bought one. Put it on my pitching wedge, and love it too! Plan on replacing the grips on the rest of my clubs as they wear out.
