THESE are the stakes you should buy!
After more than 20 years of gardening - dealing with in-ground and raised bed techniques using hardwood stakes, metal cages, bamboo, conduit string, and other contrivances, I have to say that these textured fiberglass rods are an excellent investment that will save you money in the long-run.These are the stakes you maybe thought you were buying from a big-box store that turned out to be a plastic coating over a weak aluminum tube. These are the *real deal* solid fiberglass rods. They are tough, rust-proof, rot-proof, bend-proof. These do not degrade, and unless you try *really* hard, they will never kink or break.I will warn you that fiberglass is sharp. I have a scar on my forehead from being hit with the sharp edge of a piece of fiberglass. It required a trip to the emergency room and several stitches. Even 30 years later, I can still see the scar. These stakes have a *sharp* cut on one end and you could pierce skin with it if you tried. Many people don't know this, but fiberglass burns. Do NOT use these near fire or even a lawn torchI do think that these are a bit overpriced for being thin fiberglass rods, but I don't know of *any* other source for sorts of stakes. The texturing is especially important for tying and clipping your plants and I've never seen *any* fiberglass rods for sale with this sort of texture. At $5.00 each these are a bit costly, but given that these should last forever with proper treatment, you should think of it as a one-time upfront investment. That is, if you buy enough, you only need to do it one time ever. That's how I'm thinking of it. I've got the 20 each of the 6' and 3' versions for my tomatoes and pepper plants. This is "value" is the real sense of that word. These are worth the price - worth every penny. You should not be disappointed.

Wish for better packaging
Received the product and they appear to be fine. The plastic wrap it came in was already torn on both ends upon arrival.

Disappointing
I have a larger version of these garden stakes that are excellent. I expected the same quality for these smaller ones, but they are not very thick and therefore don't hold plants up as they need to.

Flexibility
In summer our flourishing border of Annabelle Hydrangeas must be held back by wood picket fencing, or they flop. To secure the fence panels to the ground, we have attached various vinyl covered metal stakes using brackets screwed into the fence verticals. Unfortunately, over time the vinyl peels leaving unsightly rusted stakes. We are hopeful that these fiberglass stakes will be The miracle solution. They seem a bit more flexible that we hoped, which is why we are not rating the product 5 stars.

The Best Garden Stakes I've Ever Used!
Ordered these last month but didn't use them until recently. Just had to leave a review because these are excellent stakes. They are not metal so no rust issues or contamination to my vegetables. I wasn't sure how sturdy they would be but they've been strong enough to hold up this year's best ever tomato crop - and I'm talking about 8 ft tall, 1 inch thick, main stem monsters! Plus, I even used some of these stakes to secure chicken wire height extensions over my garden cage. They are just perfect.Only two complaints I have are:1) Wish they weren't quite so expensive (but the 10% off coupon helps a bunch!) and you do get what you pay for. And,2) Wold love it if they also came in a 7 ft or 8 ft size!Truly, I expect I'll be able to re-use these for a number of years. They appear to be that well- made and sturdy. And I likely will be buying another 20 (of the 6 ft. size) for next year. Love these and can't say enough good things about them. (Oh, BTW: the raised textured concept is perfect for securing plant ties. No more ties slipping off smooth sided garden stakes.

Lifesavers for plants!
I bought these because I’m growing jalapeño plants and wild sunflowers and those plants are both tall and heavy, but they also tend to get blown over by the wind. I used them to straighten my jalapeño plants and to support my wild sunflowers and they have worked like a charm! They’re much sturdier than the cheaper wood supports and they’re very easy to use.
