Works!
I have used Jason's Styling Gel for my bangs for years. It holds without heaviness or a greasy residue. It keeps the hair from just drooping or laying flat.

If you're looking to use a more
So, I switched to a more natural lifestyle overall for a lot of reasons. I then started to read stories here and there about certain gels giving people cancer. One of those brands in fact, I happened to be using. It scared the fecal matter out of me, so I did some research on gels. My hair is gorgeous long wavy/curly and thick but prone to floofing and frizzing. At its floofing stages, it loses definition and I needed a gel that could calm my hair, add some shine, and re-create definition as needed. So when I ordered this I noticed how small the bottle was but thought maybe I'd use less of it to compensate. So here's my honest review: I've been using this for about 6 months at this point and I have to say that, overall, I really like it. The scent of it is light and fresh (unisex in nature) and not overpowering. Clean really. It does add shine and definition and doesn't crunch. I've not had issues with flaking or dust either. The one issue that I noticed is that it does tend to dry out the ends of hair. How I compensate for this is to use aloe vera in my hair first to give it moisture and to begin the definition process. I add a good amount to my ends and then I add a bit of this gel to keep my hair in place. I do add a bit to my ends, but they do not dry out because of the aloe. My favorite aspects of this gel are the fragrance and the shine that it adds to hair while controlling it. Hope this helps!

Nontoxic ingredients, but semi-compromised functionality
I love that this gel features nontoxic ingredients. It does work well for slick hairstyles or putting in wet hair. Unfortunately it can make hair feel a bit tacky and frizzy. It is easy to use, and it is not too heavy on hair.. just does not form my curls as well as other products I have tried. It smells very light and fresh and it has lasted me longer than i expected.

No more allergic dermatitis. Strong-hold gel that lasts for hours. Very impressed!
It seems like all of my allergies are getting worse as I get older. I've been using the same gels from Kenra (17-firm) and Paul Mitchell (Red - strong hold and Purple- extra body) forever. But, I've been getting patches of blistery skin around my eyes which don't tend to appear when I don't use gel. So, I figured I'd try something with fewer chemicals. The culprit was suggested to be Triethanolamine - found in all 3 gels mentioned above. This is not in Jason's product. I'm not a chemist, but the most active ingredient in Jason seems to be Methacryloyl Ethyl Betaine/Acrylates Copolymer, which is listed as a "hair fixing" agent of low/no toxicity & no allergies (you can google it and it comes up in many cosmetic databases), unlike Triethanolamine which is only a pH adjusting agent but may cause allergic reactions. I have not had any dermatitis issues in the 1-month since I have started using this gel. The gel performs very well, especially considering it's extremely affordable price and natural formula. My hair type is medium-to-thin thickness and chemically straightened (barely - we leave it on 5 minutes just to make styling easier). The gel is sticky like Sebastian Gel Forte, which is the only negative - but whatever. I just wash my hands anyway. It controls frizz well. It holds stronger than Paul Mitchell firm (red bottle) and Kenra-17. This may be too strong for some people, but it depends on your hair type and preference. I can sometimes be bothered by scents quite badly (my hair stylist once used some pomade on me that required a shower, washing my sofa cushion, and washing out my nose to get rid of). That situation was unusual - but it gives you an idea how much I hate certain scents. Jason is nothing like that. It's pretty neutral. It sort of has a fruity & lightly floral smell...almost grape-like? It's so hard to explain but it is mild to me. It's totally worth a try, especially given the reasonable price.

I won’t repurchase this gel. Hubs didn’t like it either!
Decent amount of so-so hair gel for the money. It’s very middle is the road. I’d you’re looking for light, almost non existent product that won’t weigh your hair down, you’ve found one. It doesn’t build up in the slightest and has practically no scent. I was thoroughly unimpressed, as a barber for many years, I’d skip it, and spring for the American Crew!

It's better than what most stores sell
The hold is good, last about 12 hours without starting to fade. Doesn't flake, or give me a itchy scalp. I actually really enjoyed the smell of it, better then the normal hair gel IMO. It's clear so no weird dyes or shimmer. Before I add to my hair I take a tiny bit of purified water and wet my hair and scalp, then add the product that way it doesn't set as fast and you have more time to style it. It's tough to find anything that's not extremely toxic for styling hair.. give yourself breaks on your weekend, wash it out nightly and use like a castor oil or jojoba oil when your not using this product. If your looking for a more natural gel, try making your own with coconut oil and a few other ingredients. Tutorials are online. This works great for special events, job interviews and nights out. 🙂

FINALLY!!!!!!!!!!!
Listen! Im telling you I have been searching for a gel for my edges because I have natural locs, and I hate gels that leave that nasty build after applying it. I love the way it enhances a shiny curl affect and lays my hair down just like I want it, Its hard to explain the look Ive been wanting , but it gives it!!!!!! The creator of this product is a genius and has figured out a way to not leave a build up, No matter how much I apply and I can be very heavy handed, it does not leave a white residue!!!!! SO many other products lie and say it wont but this one is the truth!!!!! To top it off its all natural! Buy it !!!! I’m writing another review because this was a favorite item of mine has gotten so expensive here it’s ridiculous! It was close to 7.00 when I initially stared to buy it and now it’s more than double the price which I feel is really unreasonable, I didn’t mind paying the increase in price the first time it went up because it is a great product but the price your asking now is a bit outrageous considering it doesn’t lasts long and I’m having to order it frequently. I have found a store here in town and that sells it way cheaper so instead of having the convenience of ordering from here I reluctantly rather drive and pick one up from there to save money! If you can reduce the price then I will start back again but I won’t be ordering any more ! It was Good while It lasted !

Great on wet hair.
Made my hair too wet when I used it on dry hair and it spoiled my styling. I wanted to make my daytime style more edgy but it just looked kinda messy sadly. I will try using less in case it was just an issue with amount . Great on wet hair tho for my everyday look. Smells good. Jason products tend to smell to strong for me but this product was fine.
