I've overcome the size issue by buying an A3 drawing board from Hobbycraft for when I work on bigger pieces in portrait, which sits on there nicely. The easel is very neat and nicely made. Perfect for transporting and doesn't take up too much room. Very pleased with my purchase, and at such a low price! (I've included one photo showing an A4 pad portrait, and two showing A3 landscape). I was worried about the size of the drawer,but after using I find it okay. I had to squash one of the larger gouache tubes slightly, but it still fits around 10 tubes, 8 pencils, 8 brushes, and some accessories comfortably. The easel is pretty good too and I love how it has various tilt levels available. Drawer is small - but it would be - holds a decent amount of art supplies. Comes in a relatively non-descript box - since I bought this as a gift, I took it out the box and wrapped separately since not very gifty, but out of the box pretty decent. Canvas boards are a nice bonus. Pallete is a surprisingly decent size.
