I use it for coloring pencils and it sharpens them with no problem and does stop like it is suppose to. ### ⭐ Broke within a week :( *by L***N on August 27, 2016* Update: I loved this sharpener so much, and I couldn't beat the price, so I thought I'd go ahead and reorder it. The other 3rd Grade teacher got one, too. BOTH OF OUR NEW SHARPENERS BROKE WITHIN A WEEK! I could NOT believe it! It's actually almost laughable! DO NOT BUY THIS PIECE OF JUNK!I LOVED this little sharpener...while it lasted. I got this for my classroom (I teach 3rd Grade), and it worked beautifully. Great, sharp point every time. I loved the ability to choose the sharpness of the pencils and the auto shut off feature. Plus, it looks really cute and cool--like a little robot! But IT BROKE WITHIN ONE WEEK OF ME HAVING IT! I was SO disappointed! And with it being the beginning of the school year, I didn't have time to get on here and ask for a turn and get it in the mail. By the time I was able to do that, it was too late and no longer eligible for returns. I write and asked for help with it anyway, and didn't receive a reply. I think the reason it broke may have been that the shavings drawer was too full...? That was the only thing I could think of. So if you decide to purchase this, make sure you empty the drawer VERY frequently. It is tiny and fills quickly. ### ⭐⭐ didn't work *by O***N on November 6, 2017* This thing is cute but it did not work.
