Emerald Green Jewel Small GoKnit Pouch Project Bag w/ Loop & Drawstring

**Update 7/2022** Well, they did it, they upped the prices on their website again. I won’t be buying anymore, they were already way overpriced. Bad business move.Let me start off by saying, YES, these bags are way overpriced for what they are; they always have been. I bought my first small GoKnit bag over a decade ago when I was 20 and I still have it (the light brown one (champagne or bronze is the color name) on the photo). I don’t use it harshly, so there’s that. The price hasn’t changed much, though I can’t believe they’d sell many if they went up anymore.This company is under relatively new ownership (2016), they’ve kept the quality up and the bags remain the same 👍🏼 . For what they are, they really should start at $15 for the small and go up from there. That would still cover “made in the USA 🇺🇸 pay”, and I’d buy more of them in every size and color 😎 🧶 .Why 5 ⭐️’s? Because these bags are durable, wear resistant and very water 💧 resistant. I do use a small soft cotton drawstring bag inside of these bags just to help keep my expensive yarns clean, and to add another layer of protection. It makes it feel more substantial and customizes them a bit.The bags I use inside are old DellaQ & Lantern Moon super soft cotton or silk drawstring bags, that are too flimsy on their own, but make a great “lining” bag. I also hand sew some soft, lightweight drawstring bags myself. Amazon doesn’t really have much in the way of soft project bags for this purpose.Would it be nice if they lined the bags with a smoothe cotton for the price they sell for, (as their intended use is a protective knitting project bag?? YES!I do think the bag could possibly wear out faster if they lined them with a softer fabric, but I would settle for them to just line them with the lighter weight ripstop fabric that they make the thinner bags out of.Don’t buy the bags that aren’t the JEWEL line. They look cute, and I love the turquoise & navy colors on 2 of them, but they are windbreaker thin fabric. This line, the “jewel” line (these bags with the prism printing in the ripstop fabric) are heavier weight fabric, and much more durable.** TL;DR I worked and taught knitting and spinning at my LYS off and on for years. I’ve felt, used and sold many of these bags in person. The only style/weight of their 2 fabric options worth buying for a project bag, is the Jewel line (prism-like texture on fabric). The thinner, lighter-weight bags with no prism texture on the fabric, are flimsy- Trust me, they’re too flimsy, especially for the price tag. My go-to sizes are the small and the medium Jewel bags.Small: is great for starting out shawls, or, socks, hats, cowls, mittens etc. also fits a 3x4” notions tin. 1.5 small projects & yarn.Medium: is great for larger shawls, children & women's sweaters,or, 2-3 small projects (socks, hat, mitts) etc.Large: is great for more than one project, and a chunky mens sweater project (plus a hat, notions etc.) .
