Fit my Remington 700 no problem
I ordered this to go on a Remington 700 that I had acquired and wanted to go with a more solid swivel mount over the barrel clamp style I have been using for all my rifles. (Universal was nice, but it can only take you so far, had to upgrade for my bolt action) This fits super easy if you already have a swivel stud installed. It took all of about 30 seconds to install once my dumb brain figured out the clamp had a protective plastic cover over the bits that hold the swivel. I have had this on the rifle for a while and shot with it and handled it in several situations including shooting and moving and it holds up well. It hasn't shaken itself loose at all and the legs snap easily into place and are easy to get back up when you want to move. They also extent to a full length at the click of a button and if you want to hold them at a shorter than max extension length they will hold in place at several adjustments. The swivel works well for uneven terrain and you won't even notice it unless you are looking for it. Your body will naturally align the scope to be right with the target but the swivel isn't so loose that it will fall over on you if you don't hold onto it. Basically there are no drawbacks to this and there is no reason to spend money on anything else more expensive. I plan to grab a few more for other rifles I have. This size is perfect for almost any real world hunting or competition shooting position you can think of.

Best Bipod Without Inflated High Cost
I have been using the Caldwell XLA Pivot Model for years and I find these are as good or better than the ones that are much mor expensive. I have hunted from Alaska to South America for 45 years and this Caldwell Pivot Bipod has never let me down. I also use this at the range for sighting in. I have other expensive shooting products but use this because it is what you will use hunting and works just as well. The 6 to 9 inch has been perfect in length for useing at the range or woods and mountain hunting. I have on occasion used a Bipod for standing shots. The Caldwell is light in weight and small enough to not get in the way. Always get a pivot model. You will not be sorry you bought the Caldwell, just smarter.

4 to 5 Stars, Read why Below!
I have read all of the reviews for this product and the one problem that seemed to keep reoccurring was that the Bipod in question was loud, squeaked, and all around made to much noise. Well, I purchased this bipod and it is actually a perfect fit for my Savage Model 10, 308. Win. It does not make any noise, holds firm, and looks great on the rifle. I have also gone on a "covert" walk through my lands and the bipod never made a sound. The only thing I noticed making noise was the strap whenever I removed the rifle from my back or shoulder. I personally believe this is a great buy for the quality as well, I have zero complainants! Aside from that, I would give this product a try. The only thing I do not like about it is that it is made in (((CHINA))) and if I would have known that I would not have bought it (4 stars). However, if you do not care about where the product is made, this is a great buy for the price and productivity of the bipod. Stay valiant, my friends!

Amazons pic is wrong
The main displayed picture for this particular product appears to be of a Harris S-BRM the Cadwell that you will recieve will have smaller side springs, and certain parts are not the same gauge of steel as the Harris model. The Cadwell appered to be reasonably constructed and a good value but I made the purchase based on the picture which I found misleading. I sent the Cadwell back and will be spending 2 1/2 times more for the Harris.

Excellent Harris-style bipod without the price tag.
This bipod is an awesome addition to any rifle/shotgun. It attaches very securely to the rivet that you'd attach your sling swivel to using a "pinch" style bracket. There's also a couple strips of a rubbery material on the stock plate so you don't worry about marking up your stock. The legs are telescoping spring-loaded deals with hard plastic shoes on the ends. It pivots (cants) well and the tension spring is stuff enough to keep it from unintentionally shifting but isn't strong enough to completely lock it down. I personally don't see this as a negative. All in all, this is a bipod I would definitely buy again and would recommend to a friend.

When a budget bipod must do, I compared two
Setting up a souped up rimfire rifles for precision shooting and Belding Ground Squirrels, I opted to go cheap on bipods, since I had dropped a good chunk of change on the rifles and optics. The cost of two Harris bipods or the slick, machined tactical bipods currently on the market were never in the cards. Instead I opted to purchase the Caldwell XLA Pivot as well as a Blackhawk Sportster Adjustable Pivot to get the job done and have an opportunity to compare the bipods to one another and to a Harris that I already own. The Caldwell and Blackhawk are similar in quality, except the Caldwell knurled plastic knob to tighten the swivel stud connection and draw the bipod tight against the rifle stock immediately separated from the screw to which it is attached. I just used a screwdriver to tighten the connection without any trouble. The Blackhawk uses a one-piece component, which will not separate. The Blackhawk also has an elongated and more practical lever to adjust tension on the pivot function, however the added cost is built into the Blackhawk. Caldwell sells a similar lever as an upgrade and keeps the price of the bipod down. The legs on the Caldwell extend on command under spring tension, however the Blackhawk legs are use spring tension to retract on command like the Harris. Like the Blackhawk, the Caldwell is made in China, so some of the components, coatings and quality never reach for the stars, but both bipods are getting the job done on the bench at should do fine on my first squeaker shoot this month. The notched legs on the Caldwell are handy, but I have to lean toward the Blackhawk for working most like a Harris and having a better solution for tightening the connection to the rifle stock. No I wouldn't trust my life to either of these bipods, but both companies offer a product that works, yet makes you wish you had the coin to afford a Harris. Imitation is a form of flattery.

Great Bipod
This bipod was a great buy. It seems to have top dollar quality with a poor-man budget. The legs have three positions it can extend to. If you shorten them completely it has a feature which will make the legs quickly spring out to the full length. This bipod has a pivot on it in case of uneven ground. The pivot isn't loose and can be adjusted to make it easier or harder to swivel. Keep in mind that the bipod connects to the strap nut and you will not be able to have the bipod and a strap on at the same time. The bipod can quickly be applied or removed if you want to use the strap until you get to a vantage point. I am excited to use this in the field and on the range. Happy shooting!

Consigliatissimo!
