Best powder butter on vegetables
Been using for years. I need "butter" on vegetables like spinach and broccoli and butter buds are a perfect and healthier alternative. Melts on hot steamy vegetables so I've never tried using as a liquid. For those missing the sprinkler option: I've saved my jar and two of these packages fill it perfectly.

nice taste use as a sauce or as a powder to add flavor.
I love butter buds, we used them growing up and I really like them. I use them on anything from veggies to in powder form sprinkled over my popcorn. They taste good and you can mix them like a sauce or use the powder over things.

If you like butter buds this is the way to buy it.
I have a glass shaker on the table with butter buds in it, this is the way to buy it and refill. with the amount we go through this works out much better and I don't have to throw away yet another plastic container every month.

Tremendous butter flavor - a little salty
We love using Butter Buds on popcorn for a rich butter flavor. I add it to any item I want to have a rich butter flavor without adding grease. My only warning would be do not add salt before adding Butter Buds. Taste the food first. The buds themselves seem to add a bit of a salty flavor

A Great More Powdery Form Of A Delicious No-Cal Butter Substitute
First, Butter Buds are sprinkles you put on food to give it a buttery flavor without the calories of real butter. I use mine particularly for broccoli and salmon. For years, you could actually get two kinds of Butter Buds. One was a box with six or eight pale yellow envelopes that you would purportedly mix with warm water to replace melted butter. The other was the kind you get in the supermarket in a shaker that you would shake onto your food.I found the kind in the shaker to be too "granulated" -- and that was because that more granulated form helped keep the granules from sticking together. Fair enough. The kind that came in the envelopes was more powdery -- almost like confectioners sugar. That "melted" on my food better than the granules. But the powdery substance would tend to stick together once opened. So my solution was to pour the envelope of the powdery mix in an empty shaker, keep it refrigerated, and use it to sprinkle onto food. Voila! The product did not stick together once it was refrigerated, and it "melted" perfectly on my broccoli and salmon. Then about a year ago, the boxed version disappeared from the supermarket shelves. I looked high and low for it, searched on line, all to no avail. I started using the more granulated form, considered switching to Molly McButter, and even tried I Can't Believe It's Not Butter spray. Then I discovered this on Amazon. Somewhere in Butter Buds land, they are still making this mix. Like the older mix, the intention is to mix this with warm water to create a melted butter-like product for recipes and other uses. Just like I did in the past, I opened an envelope, filled an empty Butter Buds shaker with it, put it in the refrigerator, and use it extensively on broccoli and salmon. (Imagine an overflowing plateful of broccoli that thanks to Butter Buds tastes absolutely delicious and clocks in at less than 100 calories!)I was reticent to even post this review lest too many others buy this and use up any potentially remaining inventory that may not be replenished. But I love the product so much since discovering it in the 1980s I wanted to recommend it to others.

It's not Butter Buds!
I am still learning how best to use this product. I had used Butter Buds for at least 20 years.

Best product, not too salty
I’ve used this for decades. I do not like its competitor, Molly McButter, which is very very very salty - more salt than butter flavor.Butter Buds has a hint of salt but not overwhelming at all, just wonderful butter flavor. Sad that the sprinkle version no longer available, but I’ll make do with the packets (which is what they started with over 40 years ago).Highly recommend for anyone wanting less fat but miss butter on hot foods, soups and sauces.
