Swanson Allicin from Garlic - 12 mg 100 Tabs

When I feel a cold coming on I take two capsules with fish or flax seed oil before bed and I have found it has helped me avoid a full blown cold. I usually do this for three days straight. If I have a full blown cold, I do the same until I feel that I'm better then three more days past that and always drink plenty of water. I originally tried this product about 4 years ago when I got sick but after all other symptoms had gone, the deep cough and chest congestion stayed for more than a month and a half. Nothing worked, not even codeine cough syrup and that cough pearls pills that my doc prescribed. After of plenty of research I bought some, took to pills that night, and the next morning I could finally feel that ball of congestion deep in my chest break up. In 3 days the ball was gone, and in about 5 the cough was gone. I was not taking anything else while I was taking the Allicin.

Its actual allicin from garlic. People who are complaining about allicin causing issues about stomach probably should avoid. Garlic naturally can be upsetting if consumed excessively. Its strong and it works.

Totally misleading. The bottle says 100% allicin, but it is only 1% allicin. We who have SIBO can only take allicin without the rest of the garlic, because the rest has FODMAPS which feed the bacteria causing more hydrogen and therefore more of the bad archaeabacteria. Do not use this if you have SIBO! I used it and got bloating and had to call the company to clarify. This is not a pure allicin supplement, but she could not tell me exactly what the 12 mg refers to - the garlic or the allicin! She "thought" it was the allicin, but I have completely lost faith in this product because of the misleading label. Normally I love Swanson products, as they are reasonably priced and effective. For non-SIBO sufferers this product should be fine, but be aware of what you are paying for. Regular Garlic supplements contain no allicin - your body has to produce it from garlic constituents. SO this one is a cut above regular garlic tablets. I do taste garlic when I swallow it. But it says its deodorized and I'm told my breath does not smell garlicky.

It is good but is not odorless. It is Allicin which is the smelly part of the garlic and I understand.

There is a side effect that I like as an adult and wanted but it upsets my stomach.

These work great. I have not been sick since I've been taking these, which has been about 3 months. So far so good.

I've been taking this for 6 weeks for SIBO and have made significant improvements. This will also be my go to the next time I become ill with something that requires antibiotics.

Messed my stomach up. I took of for an infection after the flu. Seemed to work as good as the many garlic cloves that I’ve consumed, however, after a couple days my stomach started acting up.
