NOTE: this kit requires you to use alcoholic drink (vodka etc), to have a heat emitting desk light (LED light bulbs don’t work) and a computer or TV that emits heat and is big enough to hold something on top of it. It seems like a good kit, but we weren’t able to do a number of things because we didn’t have that at home supplies/situations required.

I bought this, received it, and upon receipt, I read the instructions, which plainly state the anemometer does not measure exact wind speed. The fact is it doesn't measure wind speed at all. it's just a fancy pin wheel. An anemometer actually measures something, but this doesn't.It's totally false advertising. The bullet reads "The kit includes a functional wind vane, an anemometer, a thermometer and a rain gauge for measuring local weather conditions." One can argue it literally states a functional anemometer or one can argue it implies a functional anemometer. Either way, it should measure wind speed, assuming it's a "functional" anemometer. But it doesn't. You do not learn this until you've bought and received the product.

As a homeschool mom, I love toys that encourage learning! We've attached it to a two liter bottle terrarium and are having fun with it. I will probably get another one for my grandson!

Junk. It's very light. We filled a bottle with water and screwed it on. Checked it for rain water and it had tipped over and broke. Chinese plastic with no bottle. Don't waste your money.

Bought as a gift

My son, age 11 with autism, is fascinated with weather and science. These little experiments were fun. Not all of them worked but it was cheap enough to give it a shot!

I bought this for my nephew for his birthday. He loves science themed toys. This was a big hit!

It’s a Christmas gift. Haven’t been able to open it but it feels pretty lite. The packaging came with no damages
