This is quite powerful for cutting cardboard, like heavy cardboard boxes. I haven't tried it on anything else yet since that was my primary reason for buying it. It performed great and made quick work of cutting out the pieces I needed for my project.HUGE CAUTION!!!! THIS TOOL HAS NO WAY TO LOCK THE BLADES TO PREVENT ACCIDENTALLY ACTIVATING THE BLADES!!!Right below where the trigger is there is a button that seems as though it should lock the blades, but it is purely decorative. (As it states in the instruction sheet). I feel this is a major safety issue, especially in a home with children or adults with cognitive issues. It should be locked up when not using it and used with extreme caution ONLY BY ADULTS that are not impaired by medical issues, drugs (legal or illegal) medications or alcohol.This is a great cutting tool, but could very easily cause serious injury.

As someone who goes to school for fashion, this makes cutting fabric so much faster and easier than regular scissors. I feel like you definitely get more more clean, sharp, and precise cut fabric. As for the noise, yes it’s a little loud but you’ll be done cutting you’re fabric before the noise starts to bother you! Well worth it!

Very comfortable to use. Doesn't have a safety lockout to tire your hand. (You can't hurt yourself anyway.) Cuts great through heavy cardboard. Lower noise level than another that I have used. Nothing bad to say. I use it to turn Amazon shipping boxes into confetti for my trash.

Let me be clear...this is probably the best electric scissor I have ever used. I would love to have given it five stars, but I need to be a bit of a contortionist to hold the scissors and press the two buttons at the same time to get it started. The safety feature of this does not escape me; it would be difficult for a child to injure themselves because of it, and I applaud that. One button can be released after it is activated, which is what saved it from being returned immediately. The other thing that got to me was the fact that they are louder than my husband's chain saw! Okay, that's a bit of an exaggeration, but not really far off, either. My downstairs neighbor would probably think I was taking down a wall up here when I use them! To say that the instructions are minimal is an over-exaggeration; they hardly exist. The print is so tiny, it's difficult for some of us to read. Last but not least, while they provide a USB cord for charging the battery, they do NOT provide the plug needed to plug it into an outlet. That's a big minus to me. I have a plug I can use, but not everyone in my age group will (I'm 73), so it's another purchase that will need to made. I'm providing a link for the product below. After trying them out by cutting out the fabric for two pillows, I have decided that I will send them back; they simply aren't worth all the work and the noise. I create costumes and sew every day. How have I not purchased one of these until now?! This is awesome. So far I've used it to cut all kinds of fabric, everything from sheer, to silk, to double layers of thick polar fleece. SO nice. I also used the other blade it comes with to cut cardboard. It cut through it like butter! The battery life (so far) has been really good. And it comes with a second battery, so I always have a battery charging for when the other one runs out. Yes this thing is kind of loud like some of the other reviewers mentioned, but who cares! It's not like you have to wear ear plugs or anything...it's just got a loud buzz. Big deal, people whine too much about dumb things. The important thing is that this works great, gets the job done, and saves my hands and joints from all that cutting! I would totally buy this again.

for the price this thing is actually pretty great. we own a 110 dollar version with multiple batteries and a 110v corded feature but it died out (5 years old) right at the worst time. so while waiting on a rotary cuter we grabbed this. first off we use it for simple strip down cutting. it can only handle a layer or two but during our mask making production we have 500 yards of spunbond that need to be cut down to 1 yard layers and stacked for our pattern cutting with a rotary. we need 36 inches as that is the widest printing we can get done. so. it is very manuverable if you only own this for cutting tight curves. it was difficult to give this a three star rating. maybe i am being to hard on the product it was cheap. cutting is great and fast for single layer cutting. so if you have a lot of cutting but for some reason arthritis or something this would be awesome. it comes with a usb charger cord you need to provide your own plug. and at least on ours there is no charging light to tell its charging or any indication when it is done charging. and no way to replace the battery. but so far we have gotten quite a bit of cutting out of it on each charge and we just leave it over night on the usb hopefully we are not damaging it. if you need scissors but for some reason medical or otherwise can cut this is actually a pretty great substitute easy to hold and good cut time. i am just worried about the charging system and worry that we are damaging the battery or who knows what because there are no lights or indicators to tell when battery dead or full. it has been a godsend to not have to wear our selves out cutting all day. 500 40 inch cuts with regular scissors can wear an older person out and create unwanted side effect injuries so this has been great. 5 stars if the charging system was better
