What is the hardest challenge you’ve faced as a student of the German language? You can work hard on your grammar, vocabulary and pronunciation, but being able to communicate naturally isn’t easy. In fact, the toughest part of learning German is knowing how to speak like a native. Most textbooks are made to teach you the traditional rules and structures of a language and are great for getting around the grammar and spelling questions you may have. However, how many of them provide you the tools necessary to have a common conversation with a best friend or someone you’ve just met? Not many at all. Language learners often complain about this – a lack of material that can help you familiarize yourself with the most common phrases used in everyday conversation and in native surroundings. For this reason, we at Lingo Mastery have developed Easy German Phrase Book: Over 1500 Common Phrases for Everyday Use and Travel for you, our favorite language-learner, so that you may find the best expressions for common usage in Germany and communicate with your German friends, colleagues and client without any issue! In this book: An introduction with a detailed guide on how to pronounce vowels and consonants (as well as their combinations) in the German tongue. A list of over 1,500 common phrases in German, with an accurate translation in English for your understanding. A phonetics pronunciation guide of each and every word in the phrases, included after every translation. Finally, a conclusion to make sure you’ve learned and supply you with a final list of tips. Your days struggling with natural communication with natives is finally over. Our Easy German Phrase Book is here. It’s time for you to take your German to the next level. Review: SPEAKING GERMAN ALMOST LIKE A NATIVE - During my college days, about 45 years, I had Sociology as my major for which I’d received my BA, and for my minor, I wound up taking German. Back in those days, my oral comprehension had been excellent [I’d received an A], reading comprehension had been a B+, with my writing being somewhat lower. It is the oral capabilities that are the most important that one needs to communicate with others in German. While my oral comprehension of spoken German going from German to English after all of these years is still relatively quite decent after all of these years. However, these days, due to lack of an opportunity to speak German, I’ve got problems trying to formulate what I’d like to say in German. The reason I’m mentioning this is that my dear OH and I plan to travel to Germany got pre-empted due to family matters. Now due to the COVID-19 virus, our plan has once again due foiled. When traveling abroad to any European country, its citizens appreciate it when tourists try to communicate in the country’s language. The best thing about this particular book is its continued use of the phonetic pronunciation of each phrase throughout its pages. The phonetic pronunciation gives the book’s English readers the correct way to speak German in a manner they’ll be able to understand. For wanting to enrich its reader’s ability to speak German as if they’re a native, by providing them with the most useful phrased they might encounter or want to speak, I’ve given the book’s publisher 5 STARS for its endeavor. Review: Great book to learn German! - This is a great book to introduce learners to a new language. The beginning goes through the alphabet and provides the correct pronunciation. Then each phrase is given in English, German, and the phonetic pronunciation of the phrase in German. The phrases go through a large spectrum from easy to more difficult and some of the phrases are really funny like, "You stole my shoes and I would like them back." It was fun to look for these phrases that would actually come in handy in some situations but may not be something you would think of as normal conversation. Overall, I would definitely recommend this book to anyone wanting to learn German!!

Many helpful and useful phrases!
I love phrasebooks! Typically, I scan through them quickly and find the ones that are relevant to me, my goals, and if I'm traveling. Then to make sure that they stick, I put them into a personal flashcard software like Anki. I've not finished the book yet, but I've read the lion's share. It takes awhile to create hundreds of flashcards! Lingo Mastery is helping to pave the way for easily digestible and graded readers to assist people to acquire a foreign language. Reading is one of my very favorite ways to soak up a language! However, you typically need to know several hundred words over 1,000 before reading can be enjoyable beyond stuff written for children. Lingo Mastery bridges this gap onto more interesting content. Weiter so mit der großen Arbeit!

Words and phrases grouped by topic
The book provides single important key words as well as phrases and questions grouped by topics, from colours and numbers to phrases asking for direction or at the doctor. It covers a wide variety of topics. Each word/phrase is first given in English, below that in German, and below that again an attempt to write a phonic version of the word/phrase, based on the English pronunciation. As long as you are familiar with English phonetic rules, it kind of works - in not - ignore the last line and figure out the pronunciation on your own. Personally I am not keen on this kind of approach to learn a language, but I understand the need, that when you travel or have newly arrived in a country you have no language knowledge of, to have a quick guide at your finger tips.... I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Could have cross referencing.
This book looked like it might be helpful but it takes some hunting around to find a phrase I need in a pinch. The dietary phrases will be helpful since my daughter is lactose intolerant and we will need to discuss it with waitstaff when we travel next summer.
