Coleman Rugged XL 700 Lumens Lantern

I bought two of these about five years ago. Both still work perfectly. I bought rechargeable D cells so I'd never be without a light. It is well-built, gives off good light, and the light shines for many, many hours. In fact, it has never gone dim on me. I keep these units around if the electricity ever goes out. This is a great unit to keep around!

Good Battery life.. very good bright light when needed. Cast a soft light when that all you needed.

I purchased 2 of these lanterns to have on hand for power outages as we live in the boondocks and get frequent power outages due to storms. (someday we will buy a generator!) I wanted something durable and long lasting so was a little disappointed that they are PLASTIC . For approx. $40 ea I was expecting something a little more high end. No where in the description does it say these are plastic...unless I missed it. HOWEVER they work great!!! give off lots of light. ... and are lightweight so maybe that is why they are plastic so they are not bulky to carry around. I gave them 4 stars for not listing the material in the description but other than that I like them!

Very good lantern but read the fine print. It is not rechargeable. But not to worry I simply bought rechargeable lithium ion batteries and a charger together here on Amazon and problem solved. They work great together. Thank you Amazon!

Batteries last a long time

Works great, good amount of light and not too heavy.

I was warned that this was exactly what the headline says, but we needed something fast and got these anyway. On the positive side, the light is bright enough for home emergency use, which is why we got them. The design and manufacturing is horrible. If I need to replace the batteries in the dark (or even in the light) it's a long and aggravating process. They did not design the battery pack for easy use, which really brings this product down a few stars for us. It's all cheap plastic, and made in China, which is another downer. It will provide light in the dark for now, but I can't depend on these if we need light and the batteries are done. I'm not so sure that it will even survive being dropped. So basically it's only good until the batteries die. Then it's another 30 minute affair to replace them. This isn't your grandfather's Coleman.

Excellent. Just as described and very speedy delivery. Very little information on rechargeable battery option. However, I am pleased with the product.

This lantern is fantastic. We purchased after the last power outage left us searching in the dark for a flashlight. We didn’t want to get stuck in that same situation and we are prepared. This is a bright light with two lighting options. Would recommend 100%

Completely unsatisfied, the unit does not come with wall charger, and usb cable to recharge the unit like the add states. Only works with batteries
