I did a brake job on my car yesterday and I applied this stuff on both the caliper pins and brakepads. This stuff is by far better than other products I have used. I like how it is transparent in color so after applying, it looks more clean. I took my car for a test drive and I felt the difference in braking. I highly recommend this lube and will buy it again.

The last thing i want is my old Civic screaming every time I tap the brakes in the parking garage. I grabbed this to quiet the front discs I changed myself on my one day off. The best part is how smooth it goes on. I squeeze a bit on a finger and work it into the slide pins and contact points and it just stays put, not runny at all. Next drive to work the squeal was gone and the pedal felt steadier in traffic. Im also glad it handles the heat from my stop and go commute.

This worked great. It's not overly messy at all. I used it to quiet my squeaky brakes after a month since replacing the brake pads only, so I removed the caliper and pads, cleaned them, then put the Sil-Glyde on them. This did the trick without going to replacing the pads and rotors at this time.

Kinda bought this out of desperation. Customers started complaining about a high‑pitched squeal from the front brakes on our delivery car. I pulled the pads, cleaned everything, and used this on the slide pins and the pad backing plates. Noise dropped a lot after a short drive, so it does work, and it goes on smooth enough that I could finish during a lunch break. Downside, the tube feels small for the price and the cap is fiddly. Grease smears onto the threads and I have to wipe it every time or it gums up. For light shop use it’s fine. I just wish the packaging was a little less messy.

This is a good product for a good price. This is a must if you are a backyard mechanic and do your own disc brake work. This is for the slide pins only or, a little on the clips for noise reduction. Never put any kind of grease on the pads or rotor. Also, never us regular grease, it will not stand up to the heat, brake grease only on disc brakes. Hope this is informative, we all learn as we go.

Excellent product, you really can't go wrong. Don't use the grease that ships with parts in little condiment packets. Use this stuff. We have harsh winters here. When I take apart the brakes the next year, this stuff is still doing its job, although I reapply it. Because it's silicone based, I've also used this on polyurethane bushings when the grease that ships with them isn't enough. No issues.

Used this for changing my brakes, since its silicon its safe to use with the boot pin as it wont cut the plastic/rubber like other compounds.
