(I forget how many, but I think it was more than 6 months). Marks & Spencer (aka "Marks and Sparks") Extra Strong Loose Tea is strong, dark, flavorful (a hint of floral notes), and very smooth. It's been our favorite English breakfast tea for more than a decade. And because it's so hard to find in the States, we've repeatedly tried (and always failed) to find a better tea. I drink it with a splash of unsweetened almond milk and no sugar. (It doesn't need sugar). Unlike many other popular brands, it doesn't become undrinkable and bitter if you over-steep it. For my tastes, 3 minutes is the perfect steep time. If you want it a bit stronger,5-6. But if you forget it and leave it to steep for 10-15 minutes, it will still be fine. There will be some unavoidable bitterness, but nothing that a splash of milk and/or pinch of sugar won't neutralize). The same can't be said for many other breakfast teas in our cabinet, which can become unpalatably bitter if steeped much beyond 5-6 minutes. Highly, highly recommended. I go through a pound or more a month. My go-to are straight Assam CTC and Scottish Breakfast. This is +1 over those in taste, color, aroma (malty), and boldness. I saw this on desertcart and thought I’d give it a try. The price is higher than I usually do but it turns out worth it. If you like strong black, give it a try. If you like green or oolong - this will be a big jump in boldness. However, the tea is in fine form like coarse powder that required fine filtering before consumption. It is very expensive at $15 for 1/2 lb.
