Brilliant Smart Lighting – Versatile, Bright & Easy to Use!
I recently purchased the Philips Hue Lightstrip Plus V4, and it has completely transformed my space! Whether for mood lighting, accenting furniture, or smart home automation, this lightstrip delivers on all fronts. What I Loved:Vibrant & Customizable Colors – The brightness is impressive, and the range of colors is endless! Whether I want a warm white for relaxation or dynamic colors for a party, this strip does it all.Smart Home Integration – Works seamlessly with Alexa, Google Assistant, and Apple HomeKit. Controlling it via voice commands is effortless.Easy Setup & Expandable – The Bluetooth setup is quick, and it connects easily to my Hue Bridge for additional features. Plus, it’s extendable for larger setups.Syncs with Music & Movies – When paired with the Hue Sync app, it enhances movies and music, making for an immersive experience.Minor Considerations:Requires a Hue Bridge for full features – While Bluetooth works for basic functions, you’ll need the Hue Bridge to unlock advanced automation and remote control.Adhesive could be stronger – Sticks well on smooth surfaces, but I’d recommend extra adhesive or mounting clips for long-term placement. If you’re looking for high-quality, smart LED lighting, this is one of the best options available. It’s bright, responsive, and integrates seamlessly into any smart home system. Highly recommend! The lights are durable and good value for money.

Philips Hue Bridge v2 and Colour Striplight v4
Have purchased my first Hue light a 2m colour striplight (v4) snd a Hue bridge (v2). This was for my 10 yr old daughter's bedroom and she is very happy and excited.Pros and technicalities:Ovetall Very easy, simple and convenient setup. Easy to integrate with Alexa.Great product from Philips Hue. 5 starsYou Must have downloaded P Hue app (Android, iOS) before installation.1. Plug Hue bridge into power source2. Attach bridge with rj45 cable to your network or router.3. Open app on phone. It automatically detects Bridge, then updates it.4. Beware it takes quite some time to update! (approximately 15 min)5. Attach striplight to power6. Search for Hue lights in app.7. App detects striplight (very easy, first time, no lag, smooth)8. Once integrated, it can be named whatever you like. Jojo, rattle, bindi, we settled for Griffin!App now updates Striplight (expect another 15 min to complete it).9. App integrates with Amazon Echo Alexa seamlessly and works smooth with voice commands.10. You can name the Room and lights in that room, so I guess you can add as many rooms (as you can spend) and lights in each room. (Total 50 with each Bridge as per manual).11. You can set scenes and ask alexa eg: 'turn savana sunset in room 1', Perfect12. You can set routines, timings when light tocome and go with sunset and sunrise etc etcCons and ideas for improvements:1. Slightly less user friendly for complex settings ie setting routines and grouping lights in each room and then the whole house. It could be improved by adding icons instead of too much prose, (like somfy TaHoma app)2. Voice commands for Echo: It wouldn't work if you say 'Set Savanna sunset Scene in Room1', instead you have to be Specific and say 'Turn Savanna sunset in room 1'.3. Setting routines could be simplified: one example is you want lights control to be activated at night time commwncing with sunset and switch off with sunrise. This could be more user friendly in the Hue app as current a bit complex set up.Finally the price of the Hue lights is ridiculously HIGH, you pay a premium, (though no doubt Hue lights are amazing!).Probably it is due to lack of competition but in modern era soon expect other competitors with at par quality of lights and app to get into the ring... can Amazon start making its own colorful lights?!

Second Hue Light strip - Same Result - Great
So this is my second light strip for under the the kitchen counter. Again no issues and having learned from installing the first one this was even easier. Cut the strip as needed and installed no issues. Again I've seen some reviews where people say the adhesive isn't very good. When I bought my first strip I was wary of that and when I pulled the first piece of backing of the adhesive cover it pulled the whole adhesive leaving a less than sticky strip. This is what happens when you pull the adhesive cover from the end of the strip even when you cut. Carefully reversed what I did and then pulled the adhesive cover from the cut line in the strips. You can see many cut lines in the adhesive cover pull it there! Trust me) All in all love the colour and brightness in the kitchen now. Great product. Would by again

The best lights
The best lights out there and work so smoothly with the rest of my other lights, buttons and switches. The only downside is the double sided tape on the actual lights that is included is pretty rubbish and they do fall off. Ended up buying more heavy duty tape to apply to the background

Straight Line - Perfect, pieces and bends more of a challenge
I have a office which was too dark and needed to light up my background and bookshelves. This strip is perfect for it.1 x Control Strip8 x ExtensionsThe challenge is that i need to run wire from each piece to the control strip + cut strips to length + solder + wire.It is really finicky work. the strip itself is basically indestructible, I have made so many misconnections, incorrect connections and short circuits i'm amazed it still functions. But after a few false starts got going.I realized that someone in Phillips is very clever with how they designed the connector for the straight pieces. It works great, but i need more then the 2 they sent me in the main control device. The local electronics shop also sells micropin connectors for PC Risers and this helps to solder wires on so i don't have to work directly on the strip. Also 6 core wire for alarm systems works perfectly and can slide right into the female pins to that is easier. It all works beautifully, but until you get the hang of it there is a strong learning curve, especially why you need to create many different lengths.
