I love Scotty's music and his awesome voice. He is a young man who is not only a great singer but he lives a Christian life in a difficult industry. I have a great deal of respect for him. He has a old soul for a young man and has a good time sharing this life he is living with all of the readers. He has taken us on his journey from his youth through his touring life today. The book is an enjoyable read and anyone who wants to get to know more about this young country gentleman will enjoy his book as much as I did. I have been a fan of his since his immersion into the music industry through American Idol and winning Season 10. He brings comedy, good Christian values and shares all the life lessons he has learned with us. If you aren't a fan now you will be when you read this journey of his thus far. I am proud to be a McCreerian (Scotty's fan club)!!

I have been a fan of American Idol, and in particular Scotty McCreery, since his Idol audition in Milwaukee in 2011. This book has been five years in the making and the stories Scotty and his co-author, Travis Thrasher, have to tell do not disappoint. An excellent book for all ages - especially young people finding their way and having a dream.There are plenty of behind-the-scenes tidbits about Idol, the audition process, grueling Hollywood week, the 24/7 schedule, the hometown visit back to Garner, NC. Scotty includes wonderful stories about his family, his early musical influences, life on the road with his band, Dry County, the ups and downs of the music business and what he has learned about himself along the way.The book reads like a conversation with an old friend and is hard to put down. Scotty's personality shines across every page. I didn't think it was possible to like and admire this young man any more than I already did but after reading GBOGH I certainly do!(If you have any "reluctant" readers in your family, get them the audio version! Scotty's rich, smooth voice is a pleasure to listen to whether singing a song or reading his book to you!)

I've been a fan of Scotty's from the first Idol promo I seen with him on it! I heard his voice and knew he would be a favorite. Sure enough when the season started and I seen his audition I deemed him my favorite, my future husband and the winner!This book shows how much work Scotty puts into everything he does. He deserves the #1's, the awards, and the hype.Scotty doesn't forget where he comes from and he is very vocal about that in the book and I love that about him!I will forever be a fan of his and am definitely rooting for him!

Such a delightful read! Scotty is adorable and more importantly a man after God's heart and not afraid to share it. He never compromises his values as a teenager in a cutthroat competition. His story was well written, entertaining and inspirational! I bought it for my 12 year old grandson and wanted to read it to see if it would be appropriate for him. I enjoyed it so much and loved the behind the scenes story of how the Idol competition unfolded. Scotty's own personal story was amazing, too. This book should be in every school library. It will encourage youth to pursue their dreams and help them gain the confidence to stay true to who they are and not to always follow the crowd. Can't wait to pass it on to my 92 year old dad, too.

I too am a Scotty fan and I voted for him all through American Idol. But reading this book really opened my eyes to the real Scotty. He is genuine, his writings show his love for God, his family, his hometown, his close friends, the team of folk it takes to keep everything going and his fans. His love for people and bringing them special joy is so impressive. I recommend this for anyone 16 or older to instill being able to reach your goals if you have determination to keep on keeping on, surround yourself with the right people, and follow God's for your life. We can't all be Scotty but we can all make a positive contribution to others. Would make a great high school or college graduate gift.

I absolutely loved Go Big Or Go Home!!! It is such a fascinating glimpse into Scotty's life---and into his thoughts, feelings, and dreams! It is like hanging out with him for a couple of days just listening to him talk. This book is informative, touching, funny, inspirational --- a wonderful book from a wonderful young man---singer, songwriter, and star!

I guess I was expecting to hear more about the drama on American Idol but he barely addresses the issues that went on on group night. Overall, pretty bland.

The book is disorganized. I was hoping to get some insight on his feelings about winning Idol and what his life is like now, but it is so randomly organized it's hard to follow along. So, he went to college? But did he finish? How did he do that along with touring? He has a boat and two houses, but yet lives in an apartment at college? Confusing! There are some good moments in the book but not enough for me to recommend it.

I love country music & have recently discovered Scotty Mcreery however I found this a bit of a bore cause it mostly mentioned church. I’d recommend it to anybody who’s a fan of his though

I loved the book and gave it to my husband to read. Very informative and well written. What a remarkable young man. I am just hoping that he will write a second book as he continues in his music career or wherever God leads him. I know that he will be successful in whatever he does.

A fantastic book that gives readers a closer look into the life of a wonderful, level headed, man of God. A must read for any McCreerian!

Purchased the book for my dear late wife (who was the biggest Scotty fan ever in Canada I'm sure) in fact I ordered it a week before she left usWe saw Scotty on several occasions and she genuinely loved him .The book would have been read several times if she were still here butI'm convinced she will not only read the book but keep an eye on Scotty for the rest of his career at least. BTW I did read it and found it very good and true to Scotty's behavior and morals....
