They have not filled it yet because of weather issues last year -- one weekend, the outdoor faucet was even frozen! This year, weekend weather has not cooperated. He says, however, that it looks quite easy to assemble (in a nutshell). **Q: Could this be used as a splash pad for kiddos in hot weather?** A: Sure! When the weather was finally right, we inflated the sides according to package directions. Immediately we noticed that there was a hole. We decided to go ahead and add water and crossed our fingers that the water wouldn't spill over the sides. Luckily it held and we are waiting for it to freeze over. The kids will probably have a great time with this item, however, I definitely would not recommend.
