Update 02/28/23 - Came back here to say this mat performed exactly as expected with a recent accident my cat had. He’s a little big for his box & over-sprayed. I’m embarrassed to admit that I didn’t notice it for a day. The mat absorbed it spite of the his spray dripping off the edge of the box for hours before drying! My floors were untouched. I hand washed it with enzyme cleaner pre-treatment (soaked for 15 min), regular laundry detergent, & a 10 min soak in laundry sanitizer. No smell! I laid it out to dry & in an hour it was COMPLETELY dry. I was shocked. If your cat has a serious urination issue, it might not work if saturated very heavily, but for the occasional vomit or miss of the litter box, this is an excellent option. 10/10 would recommend!!First and foremost, don't panic about this not "flattening out." This mat flattened out for me in 24 hours when I placed the litter box on top of it. The mat also advises using a hair dryer to help flatten any creases, but I didn't even need to do that. I also did not detect a smell after 24 hours and after 48 hours, any signs of a scent were completely gone.Pros:- Traps litter almost completely: I use pine pellets with my cat and while this was already a low-tracking litter option, it does still track enough that I was having to sweep around the litterbox daily to keep it out of the rest of my house. Now I only do this once a week! The mat traps all of the sawdust and even captures escaped pellets.- Easy to clean: I simply lift the honeycomb top layer and sweep away the sawdust from the waterproof bottom layer with a small hand broom & dustpan, but it's equally as easy to empty this by picking it up and emptying into a trash can.- The honeycomb material is soft & still sturdy- so far has held up well- I appreciate the XL size of this mat. I have a large cat, with a large litter box, so the extra real estate is appreciated to help it fit under the box completely.Cons: None!Notes:- I could maybe see the honeycomb getting torn up if you were to walk on this a lot. However, if only your cat will be walking across this, I don't see it being an issue.- I have not tested the waterproof effectiveness of this mat

Litter:So I got the biggest one to put in front of the litterbox. I was afraid of the reviews people left about their cats jumping from the litter box OVER the mat lmao. He hasn't had any issue walking on it, though. He walks to and from the litter box without being weird about it, and it is SO nice to always have a mostly litter free floor again! I would still recommend getting the biggest size, even though he walks fine on it. It takes a few days, but I still do notice a TINY bit of litter close to the mat after a while. Literally less than a teaspoon amount, and it genuinely takes about three+ days. I imagine it would be more though, if the mat were smaller and he had less time to walk on it.Water resistence:I spilled water the other day and noticed it all beaded up on the mat, so that was an easy clean. I do wish that the fabric on the sides was water proof, though. I doubt we will have any pee messes since the mat is SO big and the litter box entrance is relatively far from the edges. But this mat isn't the type of material that you could put it in the wash, and I hate the idea of pee getting on the fabric bits somehow, because it would definitely absorb it!Folds in mat:I noticed a lot of reviews complaining about the folds in the mat, and it's such a problem that they include a note in the package about giving it time or even blow drying it to make it sit flat quicker. Ours went away in about 4 days, and in the meantime it worked just as well as it does now! I'd say don't worry about it if the folds are persistent for a few days. His litter box is on one side of the mat, and I took the litter container outta the closet to put on the other side, to help it along quicker.All in all, great buy! Worth the $, and the sanity I have kept by not having to sweep three times a day :)

I had three of these. I found that once you got all the creases out (hair dryer) it contains the litter very well. However, once cat urine gets on the outer fabric, there is no getting the smell out. I have literally tried all afternoon by washing it with soap, soaking it with enzyme cleaner...it still stinks. It is now stinking up my outside trash bin. I won't be replacing it. EDIT: The seller contacted me and not only refunded me for one of the mats that I had to throw away, but they sent me a different litter mat that is just silicone (no fabric to soak up odors). The silicone mat works well; it doesn't trap as much litter as the honeycomb mat, but no litter mat collects all of the litter. That's just not possible. Four stars for the new mat, five stars for excellent customer service.

It does excellent job trapping the litter kitties shuffle out of the litter box. It is very easy to empty back to the box and wash if needed. I had one for few years now and it's holding up extremely well. Just bought a second one for out other litter box. Get the bigger size if you have automated boxes as litter tends to "fly' further....

Without a doubt, this is the best cat litter trap I have ever purchased.I have two cats and one self-cleaning litter box.I purchased the large size that extends about 6 inches on either side of unit, and two feet out from entrance. All litter is caught in the cover mesh, very little gets past the mat.Between the auto-litter box and mat, I have so much less stress with poop!

Decided to get a bigger mat when I upgraded a traditional litter box with a self cleaning one. Occasionally my cat would kick littler outward.The mat is a game changer. A very nice size. Litter falls into the bottom of the mat. The mat is decent thick. It separates into two halves with them connected on one end. So it’s easy to open up and shake out. Great pricing. I can walk to my curtains and open them now without getting litter on my feet

Great size and super easy to clean! It speaks for itself how well it works by the amount of litter I vacuum off of it haha. It’s big enough that my cats get most of the litter in it when they launch themselves out of the litter box. Would totally buy again.

The large size of the mat is great. It catches all the cassava litter that I use for my cat before she reaches the carpet.Unfortunately, she turned into a dog and began to refuse using the litter box and would exclusively do her business directly onto the mat. It was soaked, literally. It was difficult to clean because of how large the mat was. Even after rinsing it out 3-4 times, the smell lingered and the mat had to be discarded. This was two years ago.I was at my wits after finding out she started peeing on the carpet. So I bought a new mat, a larger one, and slipped doggy pee pads in between in hopes of still being able to mitigate the litter tracking, while hoping she doesn't associate the mat as the better pee option. We'll see how it goes.

Though I felt it was expensive it serves the purpose & our cat loves it ( as if it has found a substitute to the cat scratcher)

I have two large Maine Coons and this mat works perfectly! It catches almost all the litter from their big paws, stays in place, and is super easy to shake out and clean. Durable, large enough for both cats, and makes a huge difference—highly recommend!

I bought this to replace my old mat that was worn out and impossible to keep clean. This one how ever is a breeze, it comes clean with little effort. I love that it doesn’t absorb water it wicks right off. I will say that the picture is very misleading tho, it’s definitely not that big, which is perfect cause it fits perfectly where I need it. If your considering buying this,don’t hesitate. I promise you’ll love it

I have three cats, two are very large and litter tends to scatter. Their litter is in the basement, and I have these under their litter boxes and surrounding them. They keep the litter from scattering around the room. Close to the litter boxes, the litter goes down into the honeycomb so that I am not walking on litter. The mats stay in place when I walk on them, but because my cats sometimes fly around they do move them a bit.I absolutely recommend these mats.

Perfect for keeping the floor clean. Easy to clean up after the cats track litter out of the box on their paws.
