This thing is very small. You would certainly lose a pinky finger in case of kick-back, as this item is very short and would not protect a whole hand on the screw-on grip. Notice the comparison between the actual in the photo and the images in the product listing. I see some potential creative PhotoShop work there in the listing to make the item look longer than it actually is. I have never been disappointed with Bosch products, which makes me wonder about the authenticity of this item, too.I did not return the item owing to thoughtful reasons and had initially posted a relatively kind two-star or three-star review, but I downgraded this review to one star as my initial review was rejected for reasons unknown and/or illogical.

This is a very welcome safety accessory that ought to be standard issue. It provides protection to the hand holding the steadying handle. Otherwise there is the possibility of injury in various ways as the grinder moves as it operates. They aren't stocked everywhere, so this was a pleasant surprise.
