Great and sturdy device
Before buying this, I read a lot of information about racks, having 3 things in my mind:1. I have swing-out door (lexus gx 460) and it has to allow the door to be opened while mounted2. The bikes must be boldly fixed and it must not wobble.3. I have 2" hitch and the device must be 2" and must be able to hold my weight (180lbs)Because of (1) I could not buy anything that raises from bottom to top. Okay, long story short, let's jump to our favorite Q&A:Q: How did you pick this thing?A: I've cheated: A friend of mine has been using it for 2 years and it is still does well, although wobbles a bitQ: But your point was to keep it stable, right?A: Right. And the secret is in tightening bolts firmly. She does not tight it up and that's why it wobbles.Q: Hmm... Sounds fair. How good the straps are and the overall quality?A: The straps are very good. I've been using it for 2 months, my friend is using it for 2 years and they still work well. The overall quality is great: actually, I wish every good would be like that. The plastic is thick, the metal is thick (3-4mm probably)Q: So, does your door open well?A: No:( It does not open fully. When it is raised up, I use the rear window to get access to the trunk, if it's unfolded, the door opens for about a half way.Q: Ouch. That's bad..A: It's bad, but not catastrophic. The problem is that there are not too many racks that allow to open swing door fully. Actually, I could not find any, but just a few custom.Q: Is it hard to dismount it?A: As hard as to unscrew the bolt.Q: Are there any other issues?A: YES! But not with the rack itself. PLEASE, READ CAREFULLY:1. The parking sensor will go crazy, thinking that an obstacle is within reach.2. The parking camera is pretty much covered while having bikes on it or while it's folded3. DON'T USE AUTOMATIC CAR WASH! My friend seriously damaged the rear door with the car wash brushes (probably they stuck between the rack and the door)Q: Wow!A: Yes, just be aware. I bet it'll be the same with all other racks as well. Just don't try it yourselfQ: Would you recommend it to your friend?A: Yes, this is a great rack. I've selected 4 over 2 and never regretted, buy for 4 bikes.Stay safe, positive and healthy, guys, no matter if you buy it or not:)

Nice sturdy rack but not quick to load and unload. Not quick to fold up either.
The rack came with a broken plastic ratchet but the manufacture sent us a replacement (good thing we ordered this before we needed it). Assembly was easy. The rack is sturdy and I would be comfortable taking 4 bikes on a long road trip with it.Keep in mind that it takes a bit of time to load and unload the bikes. You have to feed the straps through the cleats three for each bike. With certain arrangements the handle bars or pedals run into each other and you have to mess around with the bike to get them to fit.To fold up the rack you need to remove the retaining clip and unscrew the hand screw and then re-thread the screw and replace the retaining clip. If you plan to leave the rack on the car you will need to un-fold the rack to access the trunk so you may want to consider one with a quick fold feature.I think I may get a hanging rack for quick trips with 3 or less bikes just to speed up the process.

Good design, quality build for the money!
I've messed with other kinds of hitch racks in the past, and this is by far the best, lightest, easiest to use version I've come across. It's not as nice or fancy as some other models for which you might pay $500-$1000, but it's plenty good for throwing the family bikes on the car or camper and heading out. We've taken two trips with it so far, and both times it performed flawlessly. It only takes about five minutes to load it up, and once loaded it's very solid - shockingly so. The hitch mount uses a bolt design that makes for no chatter except on the bumpiest of roads. My only gripe is that neither the manufacturer nor anyone else seems to sell a lock for the hitch bolt - that would be nice, as it's pretty insecure without it.In short, though, you're not going to find better design and quality at this price point.

Solid, adjustable, easy to use
After much research, I picked this up hoping for low vibration/ratttling, strong anti-sway design, and easy loading. So far it seems to fit the bill. It didn't quite fit my car as I'd hoped - the trunk won't open or close unless the rack is folded down with no bikes on the inner mounts, but otherwise seems okay. The hitch mount doesn't have a large enough hole for a locking pin, but they've included a bolted pin with what appears to be a non-standard lock mount. I assume this is to prevent vibration, but even when tightened there's some room to wiggle around.I was pleased to discover quite a few adjustment options - the vertical mounting bar has a vertically sliding strap that should fit bikes with down-tubes at various heights. The bar also adjusts to various angles, and has plenty of length. The baskets extend for bikes with a longer wheelbase, and the basket straps seem to have a fair amount of length to accommodate wheels of various sizes, though I haven't tried with fat tires. All told this has the appearance of a solid, reasonably priced rack.Pros:- Reasonably priced- Stylish, Modern- Good construction- adjustable - appears to fit many different bike sizes and styles- fittings seem to be secureCons:- Doesn't allow me to use my own hitch lock. (Their pin screws on, maybe to reduce vibration? Doesn't seem to be completely effective)- When folded up, trunk won't open without contact (2009 BMW X5).- Rattles a little, not too bad.- Plastic straps and tire baskets, some flimsy looking screws with plastic washers. I imagine a need for duct tape and power tools in the not-too-distant future.

2 years works like new
We bought this rack 2 years ago. we are using it every weekend. 2 adult and 2 kids. bikes. We purchased this rack because it was most affordable 4 bike rack and nice looking too. After 2 years my report is : nothing broke, still works like new, no issues. We have tons of people asking us: first how much we paid and right away where we got it.Easy to put bikes on, very safe and secure. But be careful: it is heavy, dont hurt your back when you lift it.Have fun biking
