๐ EXCELLENT!! ๐ QUALITY!! ๐
Also did I mention... EXCELLENT QUALITY. I for real don't write reviews like ever, so when I endorse something, I MEAN it. I am a 22 year old man and am writing this via my mom's Amazon account through which I bought this and as soon as I started using this walkman, I felt extremely compelled to write this company/product a shining review.๐ Just opened this guy up and after putting in 2 AA batteries, tested with an old Elvis cassette tape from 1973 and the SOUND is fantastic. ๐ It came remarkably quickly and arrived in a little cardboard box; inside the walkman was seated in a little foam tray with the earbuds and instructions lying flat beneath. I felt very comfortable that it wouldn't have been damaged in transit. ๐ฆ The BUTTONS are solid and don't rattle and have a weight to them that feels durable and WELL-MADE. Jacks for BOTH aux and mic are VERY appreciated and are both clearly labeled. ๐ง Analog radio tuner =๐ค๐ค. The video shows it sitting on its horizontal side but it also stands just as steadily vertically with the antenna pointing up. ๐ VERY easy to open and insert tapes. ๐ I have tried other brands on Amazon that were fine but were a bit flimsy and got jammed or stuck pretty easily. I had bought two of one kind that worked okay but both started making screeching noises and quit working after about a month of very minimal use each. โน๏ธ It obviously hasn't been that long yet, but I haven't seen reviews here talking about this Semier stopping working (unlike the other one whose bad reviews I did not listen to๐ซฃ). I am actually really confident that that isn't going to be an issue with this walkman; it feels better and works better right out of the gate so I doubt that's going to be an issue. If it is as some point, it's likely a fluke or my fault and I can always return it/contact the company for help. ๐ This has a remarkable PRICE and I truly see no need to buy anything more expensive as this does what it needs to and does it very well. ๐ฒ The external speaker is VERY good. Keep in mind my video is of a super old tape and by nature isn't going to sound like Bose, no matter how it's played. ๐ป The only reason someone might want to upgrade to a more expensive brand is to find one with a very VERY good speaker/Bluetooth compatibility, but we're talking about cassette players here which are predominantly intended for wired headphone use, so an external speaker is just a big bonus.๐ I tried the earbuds and they have a nice WARM sound to them and are really COMFYY. The earpiece parts are metal on the outside which just made them seem really fancy and cool. They have nice clarity (maybe a smidge muddy on some of the lower-mids but that's likely due to my tapes being old). ๐ต All in all, thank for coming to my TedTalk today, you've been a great crowd and I hope you will buy this if you're looking for a wonderful cassette player. If not then just to support these guys cause quality is hard to come by. Thank you and goodnight ๐.

Great cassette player/AM/FM radio
This cassette player/AM/FM radio is a very nice Walkman alternative but IMO it's too chunky to wear clipped on a belt. It's your basic old school radio/cassette player, meaning it doesn't have BT or an SD slot. With it, you can listen to AM/FM radio and play and record cassettes. It runs on 2 AA batteries or an external power source. A compatible USB cable is conveniently provided. It has a built-in mic for voice recording and also a microphone and earphone jack for plugging in the supplied earbuds. Its fit and finish are top notch, and it plays my old cassettes perfectly. The built-in speaker sounds loud and pleasant even at higher volumes. The AM/FM radio works great. I can listen to AM stations 100s of miles away with good nighttime propagation. FM stations come in loud and clear as expected. Its current price makes it a very good value. I'm thinking of buying a second one. I highly recommend it.

It is what it is, don't expect any more.
I've had original Walkman (Sony brand) cassette players, as well as other brands back in the day. Ok, so I'm old, but being old and having like a handful of these, I can tell you what to and what not to expect. Do NOT expect great quality sound through the speaker. These were meant to be MOBILE... that is, you use the headphones, not the included speaker. Think of the speaker as a convenience to monitor the music or to find what you want on the tape without having to don headphones just for a second. It's ok to listen to, if you want, but don't expect great sound out of a 1.5 inch speaker. Just ain't gonna happen. Next, is the player itself. Pretty decent, no snags. Works fine. As for the radio function, again, don't expect anything grand. This is primarily a CASSETTE player/recorder. The radio is just an afterthought. If you want a portable radio, get one, this is not the unit you want. The frequency band is way too narrow to accommodate tuning in to anything but the most strong overpowering stations. I think I am able to get two stations on this. My favorite stations do not have a strong enough signal (or wide enough band) to tune in on this tiny thing. It's a decent, fun player/recorder... Not as good as the old ones, but it will do.

Great product! Plays everything I own with no issues.
Perfectly functional little portable cassette player. I've used it on about 5 tapes now front to back, and no signs of issues. Autostop works well, sounds quality is pretty good, nothing amazing but good enough for a 30 dollar product. Not the top of the line product you could get for a higher price, but certainly one of the best when you're on a budget!

Would buy again
I've bought two of these. It has good volume. Well built. Definitely worth the price. I use it without headphones and the speakers sound good for a cassette player.

Not a Sony Walkman but works well
I bought this item primarily for the cassette player feature. I had a portable cassette player that went belly up and needed one that allowed me to play cassettes through headphones at the gym. This item fit the bill. Simple to use and great fidelity through my headphones. Through the built-in speaker, not that great, but not expected on a machine this size and at this price point. FM radio reception is not the strongest but that is not a concern for me. I thought that I had a warranty problem after about 3 weeks of ownership, contacted the supplier and they were very responsive. Turned out that the problem was the batteries in my noise cancelling headphones. My ownership has been for about 4 weeks at this point. Based on my experience to date, I would buy this again. It is very difficult to determine online, or with enclosed product literature, how how long the product is waranteed or how to contact the supplier. I researched and contact is [email protected].

Adequate sound, better with separately purchased power cord ... I wish someone made a good walkman!
I have tried using this tape with rechargeable AA batteries, and it sounds pretty bad (lots of static and sometimes just stops working). The reception is better and tape playing is much smoother if you buy a power cord and just leave it plugged in (I got a power adapter, see below). It would probably work better with regular non-rechargeable AA's but I got rid of those old alkaline batteries a while back when rechargeable batteries (Eneloops) started to get better. The cord works fine but leaving the cord plugged in defeats the purpose if you want it to be portable. I'm definitely middle-aged when I say "Why can't things work well anymore?" I guess Sony walkmans (walkmen?) really WERE something special, though I never had one. They were always pretty expensive (apparently $150 back in 1979 according to the internet). Panasonic was my brand, but Panasonic doesn't make these compact cassette players (Panasonic still makes bigger tape players though -- Sony stopped entirely!). Here is the power supply I got - - SoulBay 30W Universal AC/DC Adapter Switching Power Supply with 8 Selectable Adapter Tips, Including Micro USB Plug, for 3V to 12V Household Electronics and LED Strip - 2000mA Maxhttps://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01N7RS0NG/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o04_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1 , and set it to 4.5V ... one of the adapters works fine in the port at the bottom of the Semier, and the whole thing becomes a portable cassette player than can lay easily on a windowsill or sit in a cupholder if there is a hole in the bottom of the cupholder that the cord can go through, such as with some stationary bikes and such. The power cord plugs into the Semier (inexplicably!) at the bottom, so if it is plugged in you won't be able to stand this cassette player upright ... which is fine ... it can just lay down ๐
