Q: Is this better than a good/strong human hair dryer? Why is it?

this is way too strong for drying your own hair... but it is great for dogs. The air flow is able to untangle dog hair, and the heat is able to dry it quickly. There are two speed settings and three heat settings (no heat, medium, and high). It is also quite a bit bulkier that a human drier and noisier. The lowest speed speed setting and the medium heat setting is still stronger than a human hair drier. If you are a professional groomer, you need a strong hair drier like this.

Q: We use a self bath station locally.How does this compare to a professional dryer. Is it a good fur blow out and does it add body to the coat?

Pro groomer here. I haven't used this particular dryer but have used many of about the same power. Based on their spec ratings, this is rather less powerful than the roughly $400-$500 pro high velocity dryers, but should be fine for non-pro use where time is not so important. These dryers if used correctly do a great job of helping get dead coat out of double-coated dogs' coats, and yes, they do add body.. that is, they encourage the coat to stand off away from the skin. They also help in inspecting the dog's skin while drying, and get rid of a lot of dog dander. Caution: if used between baths, be sure to use them outdoors, as they blow a lot of greasy dander around that's not good to breathe and will quickly coat your clothing. But that said, between-bath blowouts often make the dog look and feel just-groomed!
