Andersen Hinged Door Lock Actuator

Excellent. We purchased a house and one of the doors was broken. After a Google of the door type and a YouTube video, I knew what we needed. This part is a perfect replacement part and the replacement is super easy. Make sure and watch the YouTube on installing the Door Lock Actuator first, it takes the "Rookie Syndrome" out of the process. Ignore the reviews less than 5 - I wish people understood that you don't knock what you feel is a bad design in a review of a replacement part. We have had several of these doors. One door with this type of lock actuator gets used multiple times per day for nearly 20 and has never broken. The design is fine, the key is to not force the lock if it is not turning easily. If the door binds and is not completely closed the locking rods cannot seat and forcing it to lock will cause a breakage. Anyway, it is very nice that this replacement part is available. I had never had to purchase one before and was dreading identifying what it was and anticipating a huge cost - neither was the case!

After 18 years, our French door lock broke. I first thought I would have to replace the entire lock. After doing some research, I found that it is likely a simple fix and took 5 minutes.

Installed the Part in the door. Fit like it was supposed to. Looks like it will be stronger than the original. The new Parr is a one piece design where the old one was two pieces with a pin connecting them the pin was the Part that failed.

Works fine, fit perfectly as a replacement for the original. If you needed a ton of these it may be cheaper to go direct but if you are unsure if this is the right fit/want quicker shipping this does the job!

Made out of pretty poor material but aren't they all. Works fine.

After looking online to see what might have caused our Andersen French door lock to fail, I found that the mostly cause was the actuator. Followed the directions online to replace the piece and except for difficulty in getting the set screw out, the new actuators worked like a charm! We could finally get our door locked and unlocked!
