My seven year old daughter simply ADORE these Rainbow Magic books; she owns tons of them (really we have over 50 of them)! This particular book is first in the Fashion Fairies collection; there are seven books in all. The other books in the series are; The Fashion Fairies #2: Claudia the Accessories Fairy: A Rainbow Magic Book, The Fashion Fairies #3: Tyra the Designer Fairy: A Rainbow Magic Book, The Fashion Fairies #4: Alexa the Fashion Reporter Fairy: A Rainbow Magic Book, The Fashion Fairies #5: Jennifer the Hairstylist Fairy: A Rainbow Magic Book, The Fashion Fairies #6: Brooke the Photographer Fairy: A Rainbow Magic Book, and The Fashion Fairies #7: Lola the Fashion Show Fairy: A Rainbow Magic Book. In this series, the jealous Jack Frost steals the magic accessories of each of the fashion fairies, but with the help of their human friends, little girls, Rachel and Kristy, the fairies manage to retrieve their magic from Jack's evil clutches.In this particular story, Jack Frost steals Miranda's magic lipstick. Now that Miranda's magic is missing, no one is looking or feeling very good. Kristy and Rachel, two little human girls who befriend the fairies, come to the rescue and help Miranda reclaim her magic from Jack's evil clutches. My daughter loved this story--she read it all in one sitting! According to her, it's a five star read, Mommy! LOLAll the Rainbow Magic books are well written; each story is original and fun and is beautifully illustrated. I see the recommended reading age is 7 - 10. According to the back of the books, they appeal to 2nd and 3rd Graders and are at a Grade 3 reading level. My daughter is now in Second Grade. We've been reading these books to her since Kindergarten. As a first grader, she was able to read them independently. I must admit, however, that she is an advanced reader and, I am told, currently reads at a 4th Grade level. As a parent I highly recommend these books. They are perfect for any child who loves magic and fairies--my daughter literally reads a book per afternoon in order to fulfill her reading log homework requirement. It's her favorite part of the day!

My little reader loves this series. She has reread them over and over again. That right there is testament enough. She is seven and an advanced reader, she reads each book quickly.
