Dunhuang Yun Rosewood Erhu Chinese 2-string Violin Fiddle Musical Instrument

Purchased this erhu because of the brand name in China. I know a new erhu needs to be played for a while to relax the snakeskin. However, after nearly a year of playing, I found that this entry-level instrument was difficult to adjust. The major problem is that the inner string is not responsive. I managed to eradicate the wolf-tune by adjusting the bridges and damper, but it didn't hold for long, after about a day the wolf-tune returned, and it has to be adjusted again and again. Same thing for the inner string responsiveness. At the low register, the sound are good for both inner and outer strings, however, at second register or above, it is difficult to control the sound of inner string. It is a good-looking instrument, when it just arrived, I can see there were still snake skin scales attached to the surface. When looking through light, the skin appeared to be thin and half-transparent. It is a fun instrument but not sure if I received a defective one.

The quality is amazing. Needs more instructions other than a brief youtube clip. I had to research other youtube clips to finally get it together. Will need to watch more to get it tuned.

Instrument is better than pictured. It is very well made for the price. Case is not very well made, but does look like the pic. Time to delivery during this covid time was sooner than expected. Overall great purchase experience.
