Great collectors item
Great in the hands, really love it as a collectors item, got mine signed by the VA for Master Chief, so that was awesome. I wouldn't gift it to a kid just because it's a collectors item. Not great in competitive play or nerf wars, but it's a great prop if you want to paint it for cosplay. Really tough plastic, but the bolt on the side can flex if you put weight on it.

HALO NERF MA40: Excellent!
Firstly: the package arrived in excellent condition.Secondly: as far as licensed NERF blasters go? The toy is excellent in almost every aspect; showcasing a wonderfully recreated 1-to-1 scale replica of Halo Infinite's premier MA40 assault rifle. When originally seeing the advertising, I wasn't 100% sure how well something like this could be executed, seeing how the previous attempt with BOOMco's MA5 had to greatly compromise the design to make it functional, resulting more of an oddball approximation rather than a proper recreation.Happily the MA40 is no such slouch, with a sturdy weight that feels well balanced without being cumbersome, enough overall length to comfortably fit against the shoulder, and a raised cheek-rest for aiming (or rather "eyeballing" since it has no sights) resulting in a rather pleasant to use dart gun.The only other minor mention I have for the design is the attached charging-handle on the left of the gun can sometimes poke or catch on things if not careful (including the user) and will get in the way when trying to store it in the box it came in. Use caution when trying to remove it, as it is both difficult and precarious. So how does it function as a dart blaster? Perfectly fine. It shoots foam darts from a 10-round magazine, using a small motor powered by C-Batteries; pretty much like any other motorized NERF gun.Final note: the only minor negative point I had with the MA40 was it's price of $49.99 USD; it's kind of a lot (In my option at least). While I consider it by no means a deal-breaker, $50 is a fairly high price for a NERF gun, especially if you want to buy multiples (for gifts, cosplay, modding, etc.)Outside of that, if one does have the money to spend, then it is definitely worth it. This is one Halo fan very much happy with his purchase!9.9/10, excellent!

Perfect for Fun and Cosplay
This blaster is Beautifully Detailed and well scaled. Its a bit larger than the Boomco Blaster so it fits a Spartan much better. As a Nerf Blaster: Its pretty solid and fires well. Its a flywheel blaster so its got the speed and range. I have only noticed 2 cons, that being that mine tends to cram and jam darts. And the second being that the Magazine release is in a very awkward spot.As A cosplay Prop: This blaster is amazing. Details, Scale, moddability are perfect. Its very Accurate to the halo model. Thought the small thumb hole may give larger cosplayers with bigger armored hands some trouble. Its a good plastic to be taken appart sanded and painted as ive seen MANY in the 405th do. Its essentially the must have AR for all Spartans. Its also the perfect size to mod an airsoft gun into if thats ur thing.Overall very good gun, totally worth the price.

Impressed
I was definitely impressed with the quality of this gun. Hopefully they’ll continue the full scale halo weapons series. It comes with the high rise bullet counter but you can keep it on or take it off and it looks like the original rifle. My only complaint is the amount of C batteries it needed and the noise of the winding to shoot semi auto. Not full auto I had thought. But it shoots great and is pretty accurate

Science fiction collectors should like this Nerf rifle
First things first, this isn't a review of how the MA-40 shoots or functions, because I haven't shot it. I collect these as props, not for shooting (so I'm probably missing out on half the fun).As a prop, the MA-40 pretty much nails it, as much as a Nerf gun can. It's satisfyingly bulky for me (5'10 and not slender), it has the profile I remember from my days playing HALO on my original Xbox, but somewhat modernized and chunkier- probably redesigned for the new game and new console generation. The color scheme is a little flashy, but what do you expect- it's a Nerf.Mechanically, the trigger makes a very loud "clack" right next to one's ear when pulled, and I can only imagine the sound when it's fired, considering the gearbox is in the stock beside the shooter's head. It also seems a little stiff, but then I'm only dry-firing and it may be perfectly normal for this type of gun. The magazine ejects pretty easily once I mastered the trick of curling my middle finger around it and tugging, while using my thumb to hit the mag release. It still takes a determined pull to get out, and I could wish it dropped free as easily as some other models. The "ammo counter" is a nice touch and lends a bit of HALO verisimilitude, but, as others note, you can't aim through it. The base where it attaches to the rail seems a little flimsy as well, there are two very thin plastic pieces involved that look as if they might break with repeated mounting and dismounting. The same is true of the included scope riser, which is a shame, since one of the attractions was the ability to mount other aftermarket Nerf sights on it, such as the Modulus line of scopes. With one of these in place, the MA-40 becomes a dead ringer for a pulse rifle or scout rifle from the Destiny game series (and, of course, Destiny is another brainchild of Bungie, creators of HALO, so one shouldn't be surprised that the aesthetic is similar). But as flimsy as the mount base is, I've already had it pop off the rifle once when the scope accidentally bumped against a piece of furniture. The base seems to be rigged to come off, maybe as a defense against breaking, I can't guess; but I can't say I like the design. I would deduct a half point for that, but it's not allowed, so I'll just deduct a full point for the stiff magazine as well.Aside from those issues, admittedly minor, this is a very nice addition to any collection, especially if all you plan to do is hang it on the wall. For fans of HALO, Destiny, or science fiction in general, it will be a must-have.UPDATE: The oversized magazine is the other thing that really bugged me, but I discovered a fix (see photos): Take a mag for the Overwatch Nerf sniper rifle, spin it around and insert it, and it looks almost game-accurate (although it limits its function to being a prop only, since obviously it won't shoot darts from a backwards magazine!). Friction holds the mag in place, and as a bonus you don't need to mess with the stiff release to pull it out! Now to paint it up....

Perfect prop and fun to play with
Performance is lack luster seeing that the darts come out as fast as you can pull the trigger. The battery seems to last a really long time. Great value for money especially if you use it for a cosplay prop or just to have fun around the house. Have experienced zero jams

Not completely accurate for the game, but still my favorite Nerf gun.
My son and I bought this to add to our Halo collection. It operates with spinning wheels, which is both a blessing and a curse. It's less power hungry than older Nerf models, and uses a similar method as the Elite 2.0 line.I love the bullpup design, which matches the game's weapon. After I paint it, I'll be using it for cosplay as well as nerf battles. One nice thing is that the magazine uses the same design as other Nerf guns, so you're not limited to the one it comes with.

Worth the price.
This is really worth the money for anyone who loves halo. As a nerf gun itself it’s very fun to use and durable. I can say it’s up to scale to the one In game, really large nerf gun. The only con I can say about this is if there were more clips available to buy right away or at least extra to come with the gun. I hope they will make more extras clips you can buy for this since it’s very specific for this gun. Also make sure to have it buy some C batteries for this gun as it doesn’t come with them.

Quality and Value
It is very good even though it is semi automatic it can shoot all 10 given darts in below 2 seconds which is awesome. I recommend this for teens not kids. Because I don't think a child can carry a weight of 1.5 kg with batteries. Overall I love this gun nice work from hasbro.and fast delivery from cloudtail India.
