Simple to use for new users
I am using my GoPro for work to record experiments. I am getting really good quality recordings and can easily transfer them from the micro SD card to my computer for analysis. I am also able to use it as a web camera for my Zoom meetings and it is the best quality picture in all my meetings :).One disappointment is that I am not able to use the best resolutions at high frame rate in straight mode. Other than that I have really liked this little camera.

Wow they changed from the 1st to the hero black are epic!
Wow for all the upgrades and changes GoPro made!! All I can say is epic. I hated the very first GoPro. I ended up leaving it on the shelf and eventually gave it to my brother. But the hero 8 black is allot, I mean drastically different in the user friendly profile alone. You can Bluetooth your videos up to your preferred device as long as it’s Bluetooth capable or is the micro SD card.If I was to stretch for a complaint I would only have two. 1 being battery life sucks when you shots in 4K and use the Bluetooth on to link to your phone, especially if your previewing what it’s recording (btw This is epic option they added). And the hyper image stabilization. When your running all these added features the battery dies in about 30-45 minutes, and the GoPro gets a bit hot to handle.I have turned some of these functions off prior to recording and the battery life does improve, plus the camera doesn’t seem to get near as hot as fast!

Most durable cameras available
Revised on 2023-03-19I own a GoPro Hero 9 Black, a GoPro Hero 8 Black, two GoPro Hero 7 Blacks, and two GoPro Hero 5 Blacks. I've had GoPros overheat hundreds of times, but out of 6 that I own they all work fine when they cool back down. The 7s run 24/7 in 4K loop mode to capture video of idiots that pull in front of the truck. They've been on for most of the past 3 years. I run the 9 in 4K TimeWarp x10 while I'm driving. I run the 8 in 4K TimeWarp x30 and 4K 4 second Nightlapse while driving, and 10 second 4K Nightlapse while parked. Those are all mounted somewhere on windshield. I occasionally mount one or both of the 5s on the outside of the truck in a dive case with an external drive battery. I used to use them as windshield cameras. I use various apps to control them all from inside the truck. I drive mostly in Texas, Louisiana, Oklahoma, and Arkansas, and I hope to get a dedicated run from Houston to Phoenix and back soon. I've also used them mounted on my Jeep Wrangler off-road.--I use a metal ball mount to mount the 9 to the windshield of a Kenworth T680. I capture full-day TimeWarp videos. I can unclip the entire assemble from the GoPro stick-on mount and put it back exactly where it was. I use an app to measure the angle of a flat surface in the truck, then set the top of the camera at the same angle, so that it's parallel to the truck's cab. I mount the camera low on the windshield so that it doesn't obstruct my view. I can barely see it over the top dash panel. Other combinations of mount won't let me do that. The other windshield cameras are along the top with straight mounts.--How to get a GoPro to run 16+ hours a day, even in summer: I use a USB cable to power the GoPro without a battery installed, so that it runs cooler. I have the A/C set to blow cool air out the defrost vents. I have a fan blowing air across the windshield. I park with the camera out of the sun when I can. So far the 9 hasn't overheated while driving, but it's not summer yet.--texashillsurfer on YouTube

Consider and extra battery
Battery life with the built in battery is short, but the camera quality is awesome. Absolutely love the picture quality and motion options. High frame rate looks great and the digital steadying is impressive.

Worth Every Dollar
The actual size of the camera is bigger than i anticipated which is great, video quality checks out amazing along with pictures my only mistake was not having a SD card which i didn't realize i needed due to an app needed to be installed to even use the camera.. i thought it would automatically save on my phone (app then after download videos or pictures on my phone) other than that small mistake on me . Camrea is amazing . seller packaging was on point

It's a GREAT GoPro - but mine came without a battery
I've had a GoPro Hero8 before, and I absolutely love it. The image stabilization, not needing a waterproof housing, the built in mount connector, all great. However, my last one got stolen, so I turned to Amazon to replace it. It arrived WITHOUT A BATTERY. Or SD card, for that matter, but that one seems less egregious somehow. You can't exactly go to the store and pick up a new GoPro battery the way you can with an SD card.Presumably this one works fine, but I can't tell you that for sure until I get my hands on a battery. Buyer beware, best to go directly through GoPro themselves rather than their Amazon storefront. Never had an issue buying from them direct.

Mighty 8
From packaging to set up and start up easy to work with. Great features. Only down side for me is battery life, running on standard gives you just a couple of hours. Other than that I’m happy I made this purchase

I destroy a lot of these
I fly fpv. We use these hero's for the color for post, realsteady for stabilization and superview. We use to cut them up and put em back with only bare necessities. Dropping 100grams. Gopro finally gave in and made the gopro bones just for us.Anyway. Great cam
