Dakota Trails TERIYAKI Kippered Beef Jerky 10 Pounds Lbs Bulk Bag

So I ordered this 10 pound behemoth bag of teriyaki kippered beef jerky from Dakota trails Thursday night at like 3:30 am (this purchase was inspired by the munchies), it was shipped Friday and I got it the next Tuesday, talk about fast shipping on a relatively heavy package. The taste and texture is great, if you’ve ever had the jack links long beef steak sticks that are sold in the single packages, this is pretty much that exactly, just smaller pieces (perfect size in my opinion) I’m pretty sure jack links owns Dakota trails so that would explain it, all in all I’d give this product a 4.9 out of 5 because there is always room too improve but in my opinion this is some of the best kippered beef jerky If not the best, the strips just looks so good, almost like they have a teriyaki skin to them but the meat doesn’t look, feel or taste processed at all, if your not sure or don’t wanna spend $100 look for the jack links beef steak sticks they are the same thing, but in the long run I believe you’ll save $$$ going the bulk route, it’s a good source of protein and it’s a delicious snack for work breaks or hanging out watching tv or gaming, hope you guys give this company a try because Vagabond exchange has the best prices on this kind of jerky, they beat the competition by $20+ from what I’ve seen, price per pound that’s quite a difference, hope this was helpful and enjoy the jerky!!!

Best buy I ever made! I bought 2 bags and used my food saver to make 1 lbs bags and froze them. I used my scale and they were dead on. They were the exact weight as advertised. Talk about winning friends and influencing enemies. I gave quite a few away and everyone I gave them to, loved the taste including myself. Just take a bag out of the freezer whenever you need to have a snack at whatever endeavor you are undertaking and your golden. As a matter of fact, I could skip lunch, because they are filling and taste great. Just do it! I am not a salesperson, so please don't believe there is anything in it for me. Caution: Don't let them sit for a weak and room temp, because they will go moldy on you. I did this and had to cut off the white bits and used the good bits in a stew I made. Tasted great.

Don't get me wrong, these beef pieces are very good. It is an especially great value if you take the time to divide, seal, and freeze it into little baggies. However, the saltiness is off the charts! If you eat nothing but heavily processed fast food it might be okay, but I can only eat a small amount before being overwhelmed by the salt. It doesn't even taste like beef at that point. This is definitely something you would take on a long, grueling hike or keep for survival situations, not for everyday snacking. If you have cardiovascular issues, stay away!

I have ordered from this company multiple times. You cannot beat the health of the ingredients, the price to value ratio, or the taste. Absolute favorite beef jerky. I will keep at least one bag in my fridge at all times

I ordered for my husband’s birthday. I was a little nervous because of the large quantity. When he first saw the package, we were joking about it having 160 servings. But this jerky did not disappoint. After just the first bite, he said “I could eat 160 servings of that!” He enjoyed the subtle teriyaki flavor and the nice moisture. It’s true that this kippered beef is somewhere between a meat stick and actual jerky strips, but it did not disappoint. I followed the instructions to freeze in portions. I hope the beef is just as good after the freeze/thaw process! Also - in relation to some of the other comments - our package was very securely sealed and the expiration date was evidence that it was from a fresh batch. Appearance is similar to photos. Size of actual strips/pieces in the bag varies dramatically. Some very long strips and some pieces much smaller, with the majority of pieces about 3-4 inches long.

Seriously, my dog even walked away! This is the corner store, greasy, processed, squeezed from a caulking gun beef snack but definitely not jerky and should never be placed into that category! Gave my neighbors some ziploc bags of it and they said no thank you. To be honest I am also to blame for not doing more research and just excited at the price because i wanted to save time and money to make it myself. To add, be sure to have some heartburn meds near by. I eat anything and that’s not an exaggeration at all but these are destin for the garbage.

My bad was not vacuum sealed like the image for purchase shows. The flavor is not teriyaki, to me, by any stretch. It tastes like normal, smoked, jerky. That said, the flavor is not bad, but it is far less than I expected or wanted. If you want that tangy flavor, this is not it. HOWEVER, it does have flavor and is moist and I will eat it, but a comparison is wanting a burger and getting a chicken sandwich :) 1 star for no flavor resembling brown sugar, soy sauce, or honey...or cayenne...but you can tell it has worcestershire. 1 star for the punctured bag that was overlooked on 1 end or the other by Amazon or the seller. YES, I would recommend the product. I know, the above seems counterintuitive to that, but it does have flavor, texture, and is easy to eat. BUT do not next a robust flavor close to terriyaki because their recipe is not one that has that.

Take the bag break it down to one pound bags. Freeze the lot of 9 pound bags and snack to your hearts content. It will go bad if you don't freeze the excess as it has no preservatives. Perfect snack food.
