PILOT"CUSTOM 743 / Black" (nib : Fine Medium)

The delivered package came with a converter and an ink cartridge. I filled the converter with Iroshizuku ink and began using the pen. The pen initially writes extremely well. However, after writing for about 10 to 20 minutes, the ink stops flowing through the nib. I then tried the ink cartridge that came with the product and experienced the same issue. The problem persisted even after washing the nib. I attempted various troubleshooting steps, including switching between the cartridge and the converter, changing inks, manually pushing ink through the feed, and using different types of paper while continuing to write page after page. Although the issue continued at first, after several days of repeated trials, the pen began to maintain a consistent ink flow. Now the pen writes extremely smoothly. The writing feel is distinct from that of a Sailor Profit or a Platinum Izumo. This pen will be added to one of my daily-use pens mentioned above. The resin used on it has a very pleasant tactile feel. While it does not compare to urushi lacquer, the barrel of this fountain pen has the second-favorite texture I have experienced. It feels smooth and slightly moist to the touch.

It's always a bit nerve wracking to order something as delicate and personal as a pen as an Amazon 2nd Chance item. This exceeded expectations. Original packaging had clearly been carefully opened but was undamaged. Pen was not inked prior, and the nib and section are absolutley Pilot Factory perfect. Pilot size 743 Custom has a much nicer, more flexible gold nib than my current well traveled Pilot 742 Custom. Just fits my large hand perfectly, and is a smoother writer even with fine medium nib than my Pelikan M1000. Push botton Converter works flawlessly, and holds enough ink for several weeks of journaling. What a pleasure! Great clear, fine line, not a bit hesitant or scratchy - just a wonderful, pleasant writing experience.

Absolutely love the Pilot Custom 743. Beautiful pen. Cant say enough. Very well made and juicy writer. Right up there with my Montegrappa and Pelikan etc.. But be aware that a Japanese <Fine> is super small. If you are not used toJapanese Nib sizes, check against what you are used to. Western <Dine> nib size on a Japanese pen is really a <Medium>or <medium-fine>.

The Pilot Custom 743 with a fine medium nib writes very nicely. It is a great purchase.

The weight is suitable and the writing is smooth. It is very suitable for writing cursive script.

Pilot dealers in the USA do not normally sell the 743 with a FM nib. On Amazon, I found a Japanese dealer who does. The nib is perfect - right in between the way too fine nib and the way too wide nib. Perfect!

One of the best writing experiences right out of the box. Well worth the money.

完璧すぎる万年筆。一般的な価格帯の、比較的購入しやすいペンで、これを超えるものは無いと言っても過言では無いだろう。 ただ、完璧すぎて、どんな場面でも気分よく使えるわけでは無い。毎日の買い物で、最寄りのスーパーに行くような用途の筆記、つまり、ちょっとしたメモやtodoの作成には、カスタム742の方が合う。743では自分が気後れしてしまうのだ。 だから、このペンを自分が気分よく使うには、机の上を綺麗にするとか、質の良い紙を使うなど、それなりの環境を整えてやる必要があるように思う。 それが、ある意味、このペンの欠点なのかもしれない。

司法試験を受ける大学生の子供用に買いました。 大正解でした。 司法試験は予備試験も本試験も論文式は大量の記述が必要です。 おそらく、日本のあらゆる筆記試験の中で最も書く分量が多いのが司法試験ではないでしょうか。 ボールペンでは手が痛くなり、分かっていても書ききれない場合があるそうです。 その点、万年筆なら長時間書いても疲れません。 モンブラン、ペリカンなどは既に持っていましたが、日本語を書くには、やはり日本製の 万年筆に一日の長があるように思います。 ７月中旬、子供が予備試験の論文式を受けてきましたが、筆記用具が良かったので、 受かったも知れないと申しておりました。 司法試験ではそれくらい筆記用具は大事です。 合格したらパイロットさんに大感謝です。

今まで何本も万年筆は使ってきました。 パイロットの万年筆はカスタム92、DESIMO、エラボー、を使っており、他にも海外メーカーを幾つか。 カスタム743は引っかかりは全くなく、インクフローも適度で、パイロットの品質管理の高さを感じました。 幾つか使ってきた万年筆の中で格段に良い書き味です、今まで何だったの？と少し反省です。 もし次を買うとしてもニブサイズの違う743もしくは845になると思います。 パイロットの本気を感じました。 買ってよかったです。

太字になりすぎてノートの裏に滲みますが書き進むと手に馴染んで結構良いです。
