Some Tips for Indian Buyers if any * It is not for India * No customer service in India * Even though you do not want it to open, it opens if you go near the bin; stinky smell when not necessary * Worked for few months, then sensor is always on so the lid is kept open, couldn't close. * Useless for the price and I'm now using it by manually operating

After a nightmare eighteen months with a Morphy Richard* product I was reluctant to spend money again. I did a lot of research in reviews and this one was coming out ahead - although not the cheapest it was a good buy. It is several months down the line now (on transformer) - did not try batteries yet. The bin sensor is very good - it just works every time - closes very fast - seems to be less odor than usual. Bags are very easy to find and fit very well - plus inexpensive Very happy with this bin has not missed a beat

Update March 13, 2018 Has been performing perfectly. It gets lots of use and still on the same set of batteries. I purchased a second one for downstairs and equally please with it. It is really nice not to have to touch the lid or fiddle with foot peddles. ****** End of update********* So far it seems to be working well. If you use a bag that reaches the bottom you will not have issues with the bag detaching itself and spilling contents. It will also place less stress on the plastic ring which is rather delicate. We use standard black garbage bags and even if the ring were to fail we could place the bag over the ridge of the can itself between the lid and the metal bin. It opens reliably as long as your hand is fairly close to the sensor or about six inches. That works for us and have heard no complaints from family members. It certainly seems to stay cleaner longer. A diy economical solution for carbon replacement is buy some for aquariums and put it in a perforated baggie or nylon mesh baggie. I bought this because I can't even count the number of bins where the foot peddle fails within a year and those were not cheap bins. I purchased this at around $80 on sale which is a few more bucks then similarly sized foot peddle bins but if it lasts two years, I will consider ourselves better off than going for the same old style bins. I find it looks good for a garbage container. It is a good size can for my family and I like the shape. The old bin it replaced was a half eliptical shape that looked larger and bulkier but held about the same amount of trash. The rectangle/square shape is more efficient in terms of volume. The lid itself seems very delicate as well as that bag retaining ring. The lid lifts up quickly, silently and efficiently. After a few seconds it closes.

Cette poubelle se fond parfaitement dans ma cuisine. Pratique et hygiénique en plus d’être jolie ! Pas besoin de manipuler le couvercle et plus d’odeur (surtout par fortes chaleurs) le filtre joue bien son rôle. Même lorsqu’elle s’ouvre ! Pour l'instant satisfaite même si prix reste un peut élevé 👍
