Comprehensive
This is a comprehensive book because in the beginning of each chapter (which are actually essays) it goes into giving a description of what Shari'a is, what it covered and so on. Then, based on the scope of each chapter, the author (jurists, lawyers or judges) goes into specifics about certain aspect of Shari'a but still maintains a wide scope of Shari'a overall. There are 3 parts. Part one is Generalities and Basic Principles. Part two is Individual Protection, Punishment and Remedies and finally, part three is Evidence and International Crime.Overall, it is a great book which cannot be read as a novel, but must be studied. The language is academic, so don't expect to understand each line by just reading it once. It's worth the price.
