This set is awesome and teaches kids how to make toys.
This is a great engineering toy for kids. My three and five year old love helping me build fun things. My son is a little young but he loves to pretend he is a mechanic and just last night he made a toy railroad crossing gate with this. My daughter is learning how to use all the tools she learned what a nut and washer is. This set came with picture instructions on how to make 13 different designs my daughter loved making a skyscraper tower for her dolls. The tools this set comes with are very sturdy nothing has been broken after a month of hard use. Everything fits in a blue and white storage container so it's easier for my kids not to lose stuff. My kids also do rubbing art with the white platform. They will simply put white paper over it and color it to make a nice circular design. Playing with sets like these help children develop their fine motor and thinking skills. Kids have to be able to do that well before they can write. My son loves to sort the different items according to their size and shape so this is a great sorting math activity. If there is a new toy my kids want I ask them if we can make a similar toy with this first. For example, my kids like toy spiders and they made one with this set. I am very happy that I bought this set and I am planning on buying another great one as they get older so they can make more elaborate creations. I saw this item when it was an Amazon Lightning deal so I took a chance and purchased it. I'm glad I did it's much nicer than the cheap eighties rubber tool set my parents gave me as a kid and all the tools actually make things.

Great Building Set for Boys and Girls
I bought this toy for my 3 (almost 4) year-old daughter for Christmas. She always wants to play with my tools when I get them out so I figured this would be the perfect gift for her. All of the parts are plastic and easy for her to use; it includes realistic tools (phillips-head and flat-head screwdrivers, a wrench, and an allen wrench) and nuts, bolts, and washers. You can build things flat on the included board or build them up using the 4 - 90 degree pieces. It is more difficult to build things up on the board as you have to use a nut and bolt; my daughter needs a little help when building this way, but she can easily build flat on the board by herself as the bolts screw right into the holes in the board. With a little more practice she should be able to use the nuts and bolts on her own and I'm sure older kids (5+) wouldn't have too much difficulty. The tool kit includes a case and you can keep your creations on there when you snap it closed. It also comes with pictures of different things to build with the set. It is a great toy for developing fine motor skills, encouraging/developing creativity, and getting kids introduced to tools.

Great STEM toy
I bought this set for my 3 year old nephew who loves tinkering with everything. The pieces, case, and tools are durable, and the teacher in me loves that there's a paper that shows children how to build certain things (I laminated it). I also love that the carrying case makes it portable and easy to clean and keep up with the pieces. I took off one star because as I was helping my nephew build some of the items based on the template provided, I noticed that there weren't enough of the pieces that we were expected to use. Overall, this set is great for children to use at home and in the classroom.

Giggles - and they do not even know or care that it is learning! But, Learning is fun!
This product was given as a Christmas gift and it was the favorite gift of the year! Feedback I got from the family is it held the child's attention and he felt so big building things and figuring out how everything worked and fit together. I purchased the toy for its appeal of tools - who doesn't like tools!? Also, knowing the parent is a teacher I knew the manipulative value of the toy and the tactile learning value. I have always been a believer of the expression to tell a child is good but show him/her and she will learn it not just know it!

It's fun toy but poor package
It's a fun toy for kids. My kids kept building new construction out from their imagination for an hour plus. Kids can learn the name of the tools and how to use them like real tools with parent's help. This toy came in a plain white box with a sticker that said construction tool kit. There is no picture or explanation on the box. The look of the box is far from what you see toys in stores. I think it's not good as a gift if it is not for your own kids. It just doesn't look good. Also the paper that came with the toy doesn't tell you how many pieces it should contain so you don't know if it has missing parts or not. We tried to build some of the sample construction in the pictures but it didn't have enough pieces to do it.

Great toy! Fun for multiple ages
This toy is a lot of fun for both my 7 and 4 year old. It comes with lots of different little screws and four different tools. My 4 year old loves to figure out which tool goes with each screw and screw them into the board. My 7 year old has lots of fun looking at the included page of ideas and trying to recreate what the picture shows. It is challenging enough for both to keep their attention but not so much that they become frustrated. This toy will definitely grow with your child as their ability level increases. This toy feels sturdy and you can tell it has been well thought out. My favorite part is that the board is also a storage case for all of the tiny pieces. This makes it easy to clean up and store on a shelf for next time. I would definitely recommend this product to anyone who has a child that loves to build or use a screwdriver.

Great for little engineers
3.5 son loves his new toy. He enjoys building robots, and is very mechanical. We live that it is it's own carrier so pieces won't get lost.He is an emerging "engineer," so the idea manual is helpful!

Don't waste your money
Save your money!! For the price this toy is garbage!!! My son is very mechanical and likes to build things and create new things with toys such as this. The bolts are stripped. The nuts don't stay tight. The screwdriver broke the second time it was used. The holes don't line up. Stick with Tinker Toys or Lincoln Logs.
