Clas Ohlson Solid Oak Shelf Board Wall Mounting Shelf, Untreated Warp-Resistant Wood, Strips Edge-Laminated Oak Board (1200 x 200 x 18 mm)

Having had a multi hook coat rail pulled off the wall I was looking for something to provide a more substantial backing, rather than straight into plasterboard. The previous hooks were fitted using proper heavy duty plasterboard fixings but the weight of the coats still pulled the damn thing clean off the wall.I was looking online on various websites as I knew I wanted a nice, simple, plain but modern pattress to provide a more substantial fixing point. This board met all my requirements and was cheaper than elsewhere.This untreated oak board was the perfect size and looks great with two sets of new brushed aluminium coat hooks. I’ve still got to hide the fixing points, bit of upva mixed with the saved sawdust from the drill holes will fill these.The board was delivered quicker than advertised but the cardboard packaging didn’t quite extend to all four corners to protect it. Luckily it was delivered with care so there was no damage.

These are good quality shelves. They fitted almost perfectly into the space where I wanted to install, with some trimming down at the sides due to my imperfect walls. I ordered this same shelf twice. Delivery was very prompt both times. There was a burr on one of the boards but that was sanded out. I recommend giving them a good sanding before treating. I used mahogany finish danish oil and was really happy with the wood patterning that this brought out on the shelves.

Arrived on time. Product was in good condition and square. I was able to make a tea caddy box out of it and finished it off in beeswax polish. Very pleased with the product.

Great way to finish my media wall off at a low priceThese are not laminate they are real woodWhen cutting try to cut a bit fitter away from a join as it will come off but can easily be glued and clamped upI finished them off with a good sand and some danish oil and they came up lovely

Really good quality and value shelf. It just needs to be treated with oil or wax to make it look like the shelves in the photos. If you compare the two photos here, the difference is not due to different lighting or natural variations in the wood. If the advert indicated that the photo shows a shelf that had been treated with oil or wax, I would give 5 stars.

Ordered 24 hours ago and arrived this morning. Very well packaged. Have waxed the first one. Just need to get the brackets now. Seem very solid.

Be aware it's a shelf FOR floating shelves, it's not a floating shelf and there are no fittings supplied.

Cannot praise this enough. Great solid shelf and easy to cut down to size. Arrives untreated which is brilliant, as you can put your own treatment on. I was also impressed that my shelf arrived in super quick time. Will definitely buy again if I need to replace the old shelves on my unit.
