The clips don't go the way you think they do
Bought these for skiing. As other reviews note: they do pop off, but *only* if you put them on the wrong way! I initially put them on with the levers facing out because I assumed they'd poke me if they were in. If you wear them this way, then they pop off at the slightest provocation. The next day, I turned them around, so that the levers were up against my body, and they stayed securely closed, even on challenging mogul runs requiring a lot of movement. I never noticed them at all: very comfortable even wearing them facing in.One star off because if the triangle in the back moves, then it's hard to get it back into place without help (or taking them off, or being some sort of yoga master). That's only happened once, so maybe taking off a whole star for that is too harsh, but there you go.

Best clips ever
Wanted a set of suspenders for my winter hiking pants. Needed something that was durable, comfortable, and most importantly, stayed on. Not a fan of clips I've used in the past which would either slip off or needed sharp metal teeth that would tear up the pants. I was very impressed with these clips which hold super tight and seems bulletproof. Webbing is nice and tough too. Great buy.

The cam style grip doesn't damage fabric. Kept my snowboard pants up
One of the most important things for me was choosing suspenders that used a grip system that wasn't going to damage my expensive snowpants. Thus, I didn't want metal clips or those with pointy alligator style grips which could potentially make holes in my pants. Well these suspenders use a plastic cam-style grip that holds on to the fabric tightly and they functioned beautifully. I just spent a week snowboarding in Colorado and am very happy to report that these suspenders stayed put on my pants, did not cause any damage to my pants, and most importantly, kept my pants up no matter what I was doing. Glad I bought them. The easily adjustable wide 1.5 inch straps also didn't cause any pain on my shoulders.

Stays clipped
I use suspenders on my bib apron at work. I handle a lot of boxes and the alligator clips on my old suspenders would catch on a box and pop open at least once a day. I've used the Chums for a couple of years now. They have never popped open. I can see, though, that it may be difficult to close the clip securely on thick material like ski bibs. The triangle in back is a bother and I removed it..

Must be worn backwards
If you don't turn them inside out, the clips will pop open every time you bump one of them into something - like bumping the clip on a chair when you sit down. If you do wear them inside out with the clips opening toward your body, these are great! The difference is dramatic. Regardless of how you wear them, they hold very well and are comfortable.

Hiking Suspenders
I purchased these hiking suspenders after reviewing at least a dozen other options online and have been quite pleased with them. They are durable and should last for years. Also, the clips hold clothing quite securely (without tearing), important for more challenging hikes. The black elastic fabric used for the straps appears very sturdy, and the black plastic clips also seem designed to last for years. One minor issue: the straps cross in back, and the "cross-over" point can slip downward -- meaning that the straps can tend to slip off one's shoulders at times (which can be irritating on challenging hikes or climbs when hands are otherwise occupied). If this product included a way to clip or clamp the cross-over point in place, the suspenders would be at no risk of slippage. Not a big deal, though. I should be able to improvise something easily if it becomes a problem. In fact, I like these suspenders so much that I've now purchased two pairs: the first pair (which I'd purchased for myself) arrived just before Christmas, when my parents were visiting. My father (who also likes to hike) quickly said "are these for me?" And he ended up keeping them! So I ordered another pair for myself in early January. My only cautionary comment involves the cost. The suspenders were $17.99, which is not bad. But the total jumped to $26.69 with shipping and tax. (In particular, $6.95 for shipping seems fairly high for such a small and light item.) Still not a huge amount of money, but spending nearly $30 makes for a fairly expensive pair of suspenders. It would have been nice to find them in a local hiking store and avoided the shipping time and cost. (I checked Campmor, among others, without success.) Alternatively, if I'd been able to purchase them directly from Amazon (rather than from LuggagePoint via Amazon), I could have placed an order that would have included free shipping, which is always a good option. On balance, though, I like this product a great deal. I received it quickly and it looks as if it will last many years.

Tape the latches
First off, I'm 6'4" tall with an athletic build and these fit me just fine. Bought these to hold up my ski pants when on the slopes or snowshoeing. These would have gotten five stars but one of the latches in the back seems to unlatch itself randomly. ONLY ONE OF THEM! Not sure if there is anything I can do to make the one stop unlatching itself. Tried many attempts of readjusting it and latching it in another place but it kept coming undone. Then you have to take off the gloves, lift up the ski jacket and put it back on or just live with the feeling of your pants falling. I ended up putting a small piece of electrical tape around the clasp once they were locking in place. This prevented articles of clothing from unlatching it. Not a big deal to me anyways.

Works great
This is the first and only pair of suspenders I own, so I have nothing to compare against. Nevertheless these are great. I should have bought suspenders years ago. I use them anytime I will be doing a lot of bending - yard work, working in the garage, riding motorcycles. I've had no trouble with the clasps un-clasping, and I have had no trouble with the piece in the back where the two straps criss-cross. And they're comfortable.

Great ... but ... they some undone!
I purchased these to keep my pants from slowly rolling down when I hike or snowshoe.I was drawn to these by the reviews and by the fact that the clips are plastic. The good ... they are comfortable, easy to adjust and easy to put on!The bad ... well .. when the going gets rough, at least one clip comes undone. So far, I've worn them twice hiking, once cross-country skiing and once backcountry skiing (with lots of falls).... My outings usually last 4 to 4 hours. They've only managed to stay clipped once (for an hour long outing). That said ... it's not the end of the world but depending on the weather or the layers, you may just end up living with it that way or you may take a break to reclip.

They work and clips won't destroy your car seats...
Been they a couple paid of suspenders for ski pants, last pair I owned were purchased at SAIL equipment stores and the clips were cutting into Audi leather drivers seats, interior of ski jacket etc.. These are slightly different design using a cam clip versus the traditional folding trap that you're used to. All the bits are smoother and tough. They don't want to cut into things. The belts are just wide enough, comfortable and the whole system works as it should. I like them a lot. My needs are seasonal so I can move them from motorcycle pants to ski pants and back again, if I had two needs in one season I would definitely buy another pair. I have recommended these to others and their experiences are the same, perfect solution, they work very very well and don't destroy furniture or coats or pants. Long overdue rethinking of something we didn't know could be better.

Ok so I don't wear suspenders like farmer jonez does
Ok so I don't wear suspenders like farmer jonez does, I wear them when I am on my motorbike on my riding pants. I strongly urge anyone like me who rides in most weather and one day got caught in the rain, with a two piece jacket/pant, found out quickly that as you sit, your pants are pulled down ever so slightly (no plumbers crack revealed here), even tho my First gear jacket covers the back, rain has a way of finding its way in and from time to time, the wind would raise the jacket up enough to let in the nice cold breeze and...water. Nothing like running down the crack to wake you up even more :)These solved the issue and yes, I do have a rain suit but by the time I would have needed to stop and get it on, I was already in it and first gear is supposed to be water proofish, but not in torrential downpour.

Good but not perfect
Look well made, comfortable. Overall I like these, but they come open too easily. The part that holds onto your pants needs a lock or should be harder to open. Most days skiing I would have at least one lose its grip. I don't think it actually lost its grip, but more likely got bumped and came open. There's probably a simple modification to fix this (ziptie maybe), but for the price I think they should be a little bit better.

Very good suspenders, with an annoying flaw that can be fixed rather easily
Best suspenders I bought, only one that doesn't cut my car's leather seats... But plastic sliding "thing" holding the straps in the back (adjustable) doesn't stay in place - it keeps sliding down, causing the two straps to slip off my shoulders. Easy fix - run some elucidation tape inside the plastic "thingy" - sticky side away from the straps and on the inside of the plastic, and that solves the problem - but would rather I did not to have to "McGyver" this to begin with...

No more dropping pants ...
I waited too long for this. I have been using a belt for my ski pants and that worked ok, but never seemed to bring the pants high enough. These suspenders have some spring in them, which is perfect for ski pants as they can stretch when bending knees. The clips are really good and they do not seem to slip at all. I will continue to try them out but so far, they are performing exactly as advertised.

Pain in the ass
The clips do not stay on very well unless you find a really thick spot on the pants. And the plastic thing where they cross on your back doesn't stay up. The straps kept falling off my shoulders. It was a pain to have to fix with all my gear on. I had to sew it in place. Wouldn't recommend. They need to have some rubber on the underside to keep the straps on your shoulders

Unusual clips disappoint
While these suspenders are comfortable and more than adequately adjustable, their unusual cantilever waistband clips frequently undo. The protruding finger-grip closure seems to attract objects that swiftly push them floor-ward, thereby releasing the slip so it can spring up and smack one part or another of your upper body. On the plus side, however, there is nearly no metal in the clips so these will be my choice for going through security at airports.

comfortable but not long lasting
The plastic clamps are superior to the metal clamps ....however the undo easily if sitting against a chair back that isn't completely flat ...seem to hook on things and undo very easily. Elastic also stretches over time and eventually cant adjust enough.

Not effective in properly securing pants.
I was hopefully that these work work for my dad as he is allergic to metals. By the time you put the material in the clasp\buckle it won’t close firmly and therefore not effective at keeping pants up. For the price I had higher hopes. In my opinion not worth the money.

Good suspenders for curling
Good suspenders for curling. I've used them for one season and the clips hold well haven't slipped ever. The plastic piece that holds the cross over together is too slippery and falls out of place making them fit poorly. I fixed this by putting a rubber band around each strap and then sliding the plastic over it so its hidden.

Good Value
I haven't had much trouble keeping them attached as some other reviewers have stated but it would be nice if the clasps were a little stiffer so they wouldn't come undone quite as easily. Nice that they are not metal but a good quality plastic.

Clips are sturdy and keep my pants up while skiing
I bought this to keep my pants up while skiing. Great product and would recommend to skiers or snowboarders. I followed other people's reviews and attached the clip towards the inside so that it doesn't accidentally unclip when moving.

Good from far, but far from good.
There is a “floating” crossover in the back that slides down during activity. The closer it gets to the small of your back the wider the straps get until they slide off your shoulders.Others have said to safety pin the crossover. That’s not a professional solution, nor is it practical. This coupled with other commenters ‘jury rigged solutions to clip function makes this product substandard. Hence the 2 stars.
