Vasque Men's Juxt Multi-Sport Shoe

My hubby has been in need of a new pair of outdoor shoes for awhile. I honestly know little to nothing about hiking shoes but based on the great reviews I believe I made the right decision. I think they are a sharp looking pair of shows and he has had zero complaints about the comfort of them. They are nice looking pair of shoes that he wears to work almost every day. He takes them on his favorite trails several times a week and gets a lot of use out of them. He appreciates the rubber toe guard that lines the top of the shoe to help minimize potential bumps. The only thing wrong that I saw with the shoes is the liner was not flush with the side of the shoe. Hubby felt it for a few minutes but it was not enough to send the shoes back for. I hope he gets a lot of use out of them, but the price I paid for these shoes was really not bad and it looks like people agree with me about buying them from Amazon. If you are looking for a good shoe at a good price, I give this pair of shoes a highly recommend! Thanks for your time in reading this review, if you have any questions just ask!

The shoes fit perfect, some of the most comfortable shoes I've ever worn. They look great as well. I will probably buy another pair in a different color. My only complaint is that I think these may have been a return as they were scuffed a bit on the right toe and had what appeared to be baby powder residue on them when I opened the box, but I'll keep them.

So far so good! I have trouble finding shoes that fit... but, I've worn these 5 days straight and they were pretty comfortable right out of the box. They seem t be very well made - again, I'm still in week one! But, I only gave 4 stars because there was also an excessive amount of glue all around the shoes where the outsole meets the upper. I've been able to pull most of it off, but it's kind of annoying. Pretty small complaint, really.

Great hiking and everyday shoe. I'll post again when I have more miles on them. I bought these on a recommendation from a YouTube hiker and couldn't be happier so far. Out of the box they fit well and were comfortable immediately. I had been hiking in my Brooks Ghost running shoes because, for me, I like low weight shoes for hiking. These shoes fit like a running shoe but provide the support of a hiking shoe. Good tread, but do clog up pretty well in muddy conditions, but that is expected on almost any shoe or boot. Cost very comparable to a good running shoe or lower end hiking boot. Love them so far.

Casual wear, light hiking.

My son left a pair of these shoes at our house after a hike. My old hiking shoes were not doing the job. So I wore my son’s Vasques and even though pretty worn they felt very comfortable. So I bought a pair on Amazon and they fit and walked amazingly well. Great purchase.

Could it be that the Juxt is called a "multisport" shoe because it does several things okay, but nothing really well?Length:Relatively true-to-size, if a smidge long. I normally buy 9.5 when choosing a shoe that will be used for hiking to ensure there will be no toe bang. The size 9 Juxt is fine.Width:Sufficient room in the toebox. Definitely fits a more snugly through the forefoot than a typical "hiker"; might be more like an approach shoe. The heel pocket is not as narrow as the forefoot... might be more like the toebox. The extra lacing eyes and webbing allow for a very customized fit from toe to ankle.Heel pocket:For me, this is the most disappointing aspect of the shoe. Not sure if I can describe this in a way that will be comprehensible, but... the heel of the shoe, and the heel pocket, are shorter, top to bottom, than on a standard hiker. For me, this means that the heel doesn't feel as securely strapped in. And while the unique lacing arrangement holds the fore and mid foot securely, it does not lock the heel in place.On the first few wearings, there was noticeable heel lift. This has diminished somewhat as the shoes have broken in - perhaps because the sole has softened up and perhaps because the shoe is molding to my foot. But it remains true that the heel fit of the Juxt does not seem as... secure... as on the Lowa and Merrell hiking shoes I've owned..Support:Torsional rigidity is okay, probably a result of the design of the sole. But the shoe is fairly soft. More a lightweight "trail runner" than a substantive "hiker". Can feel rocks through the sole - which is okay when scrambling, but can be painful / tiring on a long day of talus hopping.Sole:As above... a bit soft; doesn't appear to have much of a shank. Seems to grip well enough. Haven't had the shoe out in inclement weather so cannot comment on performance in wet or mud.Quality of materials / construction:No complaints (so far). Similar quality to my Vasque Snowblimes. If Lowas are BMWs, Vasque would be a Chevrolet. Solid materials and workmanship. Decent value at this price-point.One niggle:As another reviewer commented, the laces are constructed of a "slippery" material and have a propensity to loosen even when double knotted. Which can be annoying but is not really a "problem".

Great pair of shoes! just like the rest said, it can take a beating and would last for a long time that's why there is no question why this product was selected by the Navy Seals to wear during one of their biggest operation. I already told all my hiking buddies and I'm sure they would purchase this product soon. Money well spent.....

I did a lot of shopping around for the most comfortable and durable camping/hiking shoes. I have to say these shoes lived up to all the hype… I am not surprised Seal-Team 6 were wearing them during the raid at Bin Ladin’ hideout.
