The 8 and 9 have a few extra cleaning modes like extra sensitive. The 9's travel case comes with a charging adapter and will let you charge the toothbrush when in the case and the adapter is plugged in (just like the Genius X line previously). So you don't have to bring the magnetic base with you while traveling. The 8 and 9 also have color LED screens while the 7 is black and white. Some also come with more additional toothbrushes.
