James Cagney thrills in a rare (and limber) song-and-dance performance as composer-entertainer George M. Cohan. This nostalgic biography is told in flashbacks, covering Cohan's formative years becoming Broadway's brightest star and touching upon his loves, musicals, and artistic triumphs. Director Michael Curtiz (The Adventures of Robin Hood) offers Cagney ample opportunities to invent an utterly charming performance in what is practically a one-man show. If you've never seen Cagney as a hoofer, you're in for a treat: his dancing is as dynamic as anything else he's ever done on screen

Looks beautiful
Had the vhs tape for years n now see it in high def was fun. Sound was also great to hear. The audio commentary is full of surprising things that went on behind the scenes. made the movie even more of a classic to own. Fast service n great price.

One of my most favorite movies!!! First watched it in the 1950’s. Have seen it more times than so can count. Love the music and dancing as well as the story.

Phenomenal Classic
Great tribute to George Cohan, who was an historic songwriter, playwright, choreographer, singer, dancer and playwright. Songs like "Over There," "Grand Old Flag," "Give My Regards to Broadway," "Harrigan" and "Yankee Doodle Dandy" are beautifully performed. A musical and biography rolled into one. Family friendly too with no foul language, sexuality or violence.

Soy fan de los clásicos del cine de la época de oro, y cuando supe que Warner Archive Collection había restaurado en formato Blu-Ray el clásico "Yankee Doodle Dandy" lo compré de inmediato. Se ve espectacular, mejor que nunca, con una calidad de imagen fuera de serie.Llegó en perfectas condiciones, el único inconveniente es que no trae subtitulos ni doblaje en Español.

James Cagney survolté et irréprochable, comme d'habitude. Un pan d'histoire du "vaudeville" américain (ce qu'on appelait en France le "music-hall"). Numéros musicaux impeccables et joliment mis en scène, à l'ancienne. Walter Huston (le père de John) formidable et montrant qu'un acteur de la grande période hollywoodienne des "films d'usine" (comme je les appelle) savaient TOUT faire : jouer, chanter, danser...
